Former Gophers guard Braeden Carrington is now a Badger.

Thank god.

This kid is a mental midget. He quit on his team in the middle of the year because he was pouting and pretending to have a mental health issue while publicly yucking it up. He stunk at Tulsa and is a 6'4" guard who can't create his own shot and shoots in the mid 30s.

He's essentially Antonio Brown without the personality, talent, or jump shot.

He didn’t like his playing time/shots with the Gophers…..does he think he’s gonna get more from the Badgers?? This is gonna end badly for him…..

He does a pretty good job filling up the stat sheet (averaged 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and .7 blocks per 40 minutes). He just can’t shoot. Pretty important for a shooting guard.

It looks like he lost his starting job at Tulsa halfway thru the season then got it back for the last 3 games. He shot 4/9 from 3PT his final game and scored 18 points.

Kind of surprising to me the Badgers would want him. Maybe they think they can fix his shot. He will get booed something fierce if/when the Badgers come to town, can he handle that?

My guess is they took a flier on him for his defense. I always have a hard time judging that in individual players, but he apparently has a decent reputation on that end. Wisconsin does value D as much or more than O, which is why a guy like Essegian lost his spot in the rotation in the year before he transferred to Nebraska. It’ll be interesting to see how much PT Carrington gets.

He was a pretty good defender here. I would anticipate little playing time for him, though.
