Kordell Stewart doesn’t have his number retired. He won two bowl games and finished in the top 10 twice. But he wasn’t the coach's son. 🤷‍♂️

Yup. I doubt there are many teams that want to deal with a mediocre quarterback with a giant ego and his meddling father with an even bigger ego.
In that area of "mid-range draft quality QB" there are a lot of those ... that come with less baggage.

If you draft him and don't start him, media is going to potentially be full of Sanders whores out there like Mel Kiper writing / tweeting CONSTANTLY about how you should play him. More than your typical backup dude talk you get from fans, now the pressure is bigger, national ...

Who wants that?

I could see a successful, veteran coach like Tomlin being able to handle it just fine. Probably tougher for a newer coach.

I posted this somewhere else but it'll be interesting to see how he handles a different coach and system. Sanders has been coached by his dad and in his dad's system since he was a sophomore in HS. He doesn't know anything else.

It will be really interesting to see where he ends up. At some point the investment is low enough to gamble on the talent but I know if I was a GM I wouldn't want to invest a ton into him. Johnny Manziel's name is getting tossed around a lot when people talk about Shadeur and I can totally see it because the bust potential with him is incredibly high.

That is a good point. Will be interesting to see how he handles playing for a coach that doesn't give him preferential treatment the way daddy does.

It would be fascinating to see video of these disastrous interviews he has reportedly had with multiple teams. Sounds like he just comes across as an entitled jerk who doesn't have the leadership qualities you have to have to be a QB in the NFL.

I'm sure someone could handle it, but if your option is just about any other mid rage QB prospect ... you don't have to with them.

Has anyone who had their number retired not been a first round pick?
Guessing there are lots but you don't have to look far for an example. Our very own Bruce Smith was a 13th round pick.

But it does make the whole jersey retirement thing at Colorado look even more foolish when Coach Prime wanted to pretend like Hunter and Shadeur deserved to be viewed the same and they clearly shouldn't be. One won the Heisman and was the 2nd overall pick....the other's last name is Sanders and daddy is in charge. :)

It seems Shadeur made his dad a lot of money with his excellent college QB play and Deion lost his son a lot of money because NFL teams aren't sure they want the headaches of dealing with his reality TV family? Well, I guess Shadeur will likely get some of that money back as an inheritance. That's a unique way to save for retirement...

I'm not shocked he has slid in the draft but no way did I think he would still be sitting there in round 3. Awesome.....clearly NFL teams don't think he is as special as he thinks he is. Teams with a desperate need at QB passing on him multiple times.

The rumors about his horrific team interviews must carry a lot of truth to them. CLE has passed on him FOUR (4) times thus far.

Makes you wonder if some of these qb needy teams have him on their do not draft list
Only 3 QBs off the board so far. Clearly this is viewed as a really weak QB class which has to be a massive blow to Shadeur's super sized ego.

Amazing that a guy who at one point was being talked about as possibly going in the top 5 overall is now looking like teams just want absolutely nothing to do with him. At this point he could end up as a day 3 guy.

Well milroe just went, though I spose I’d view him as a wr at the next level

And now Gabriel

Think another thing is he’s played entirely out of the gun and every team who wants a qb this year is more under center. Is part of why he’d be awful in Pitt coupled with the ego

I wonder how awful his pre-draft conversations went with teams. It couldn't be good.
