Gophers land a big man....... 6' 10" Nehemiah Turner

Great get. He needs to hit the weights, hit the cardio, and eat a good diet from now until the season starts.

He could be very solid if he keeps working on his body.
Needs work on those legs. 100 bunny hop crunchers every day would increase that vertical another 10 inches. Otherwise, Super Star

Big analytic jump if we can get Garcia and CG Trent McGlaughlin NAriz.

Guessing he is still growing. He definitely is top heavy and hope he is working on weight distribution, especially the legs and a better foundation.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong images, but it appears to me that he lost 30+ pounds (of bad weight) from the time he arrived on campus.

If that's correct, that may be why he didn't play early on and "came on at the end of the year."
Reminds me of when Mo Walker got in shape after the Pitino change and put together a solid Senior season

This is an exciting pickup.

I'm starting to think we might be...pretty good next season? No real proven star players, but many candidates amongst our top 8 guys for someone who could break out...
With a coach that's proven he's been able to get the guys better and develop a little more cohesively, I feel good about it. Wondering who the other adds will be. Nice to have 8/9 guys knocked out already with casual time to add a couple more.

Looking at the lineup at this point no one stands out as the center of gravity on offense. It’s always a delicate balance: generally offensive efficiency requires a serious scorer leading the way without the ball and ball movement dying in his hands.

Nique Clifford went from scoring 6 a game to 12 and then 19 per game and made himself into a draftable player. Who did we pick up that has that potential when put into the right situation?

I would think that Reynolds, Willis and Durkin all could be possible lead scorers. I still would like to see one more really good three point shooter come our way. A lot depends on how guys end up fitting in and buying into the system.

I love the pickup of Turner yesterday. If he puts the work in, that gives guys like Willis and Reynolds who are go to the hoop guys, a big to dump the ball off to when the help comes!

Asuma is going to be good as well. He is perfect for the Niko system.

I continue to forget about Asuma. That kid has potential. I like him a lot with Niko. Could be very good by the time his career is over.

Nice to see some additional size added to the roster. Added perk that he is young however in this day and age it is tough to count on anyone sticking around so who knows if we will actually get multiple years out of him.

I never predict until I see a team in action against Macalester College 😅 but I'm thinking this roster is NIT hopeful if not NIT expectation. If they're able to add a significant talent and/or if Garcia returns, we might be talking NCAA hopeful.

I have 100% confidence this roster will perform better against Macalester and St Olaf. In all seriousness, would be nice to see us schedule an exhibition against someone like Mankato who can actually provide a challenge.

Remember, assuming that tournament continues next season, Big Ten teams who do not make the NCAA tournament reportedly are contractually obligated to play in the College Basketball Crown if they are invited and choose to play in a post-season tournament. Nebraska and USC, the only non-NCAA tournament conference teams appearing in a post-season tournament this year, both played there.

I would add Reynold, Willis, Asuma, Omot all have good length and athleticism for their positions, to be above average defenders. It's been a long time since we have had more than 1 or 2 on the entire team.

I remember when gophs used to take trips to Europe during the off-season once in awhile and play a handful of games there. How valuable would that be this summer with all the new pieces.

I believe you can do something like that once every three years. I just tried searching when the last time we were there, but I couldn't find anything.

lol....nearly every clip in the video was him working a few feet from the basket.....Dude is 6'10" were you expecting him to look like a speed demon moving on the court? He looked like a pretty typical big bodied tall guy to me.

His feet looked decent in the paint and he showed some agility.. I liked the drop step where he used his left…
