Iowa DB transfers to the good guys on Easter!

I saw more fans initially upset that he’s transferring. Maybe I’m over thinking it, but do you really expect an Iowa fan to endorse anything positive regarding MN???
Albeit it's not Iowa, but I think all of us are happy Benhart left the state for a competitor school. Probably same for iowa fans and this guy.

Wouldn't that make him older, not younger?
He only has had two years of college experience instead of three. A lot of guys make big strides their fourth and fifth years (which he won’t have unless we redshirt him at some point).

Before you claimed he redshirted (post #28), now you're saying he didn't.

Not really the same though since Benhart never came here. Much harder to see a player transfer to a conference foe than to see one go there out of high school.

I said he burned his redshirt meaning he didn’t redshirt. So he has three years to play two.
Wouldn't "burn" imply that it is gone? I've watched a lot of college ball in my day and typically when someone says they "burned their redshirt", that means they used it up. Like burning a young QB's redshirt because starters went down and he had to play.

Regardless of terminology, good to know his eligibility.

Nice comparison, but I wouldn’t go that far. Henderson was seriously underrated in my opinion. He has NFL-level talent and made some big plays for us. I really think this was more of a special teams decision. Judging by the reaction, Iowa fans seem pretty happy to see him go.
We can only hope he's Jack Henderson, but it's unlikely.

I think they use the term because in the past you might have had to use a player for one game which would mean he lost an entire year of eligibility to play. The plan would have been to red shirt him, but by playing him you burned the red shirt year. He can still red shirt another year, but one of his four playing years is gone.

A lot of CB's are being offered crazy money to enter the portal by tomorrow. Don't be surprised if Bryan get offered a bag he can't refuse. Let's hope he stays if it happens.
