Kordell Stewart doesn’t have his number retired. He won two bowl games and finished in the top 10 twice. But he wasn’t the coach's son. 🤷‍♂️

It's good to retire Travis Hunter's number. He's a Heisman winner and also the most significant 2-way player of the modern era.

Rashaan Salaam's number is retired at CU and a lot of programs including Minnesota would consider a Heisman worthy of jersey retirement. Bruce Smith's number is retired here.

But Shedeur? There's a dozen QBs around the country doing similar statistical things every year and he didn't win anything of significance in only 2 years on campus.

whoa whoa whoa. you're not impressed with his 13-11 record and Alamo Bowl loss?

Sanders' stats this last year are kind of funny in terms of how much Deion chose to stat pad his kid (and Hunter for that matter) with late TDs and keeping them in there when games were out of reach in both directions.

If I’m an NFL GM I don’t touch them kids, I don’t care how talented they are. Dads going to be in there ears and that’s not good on any locker room
I obviously don't know either of them personally but everything I hear is Hunter is much much less of a diva than Shedeur. He actually seems like a pretty good kid, but then again I don't see everything that goes on behind the scenes.

That and basically refusing to run the ball.

Totally agree. A case can certainly be made for retiring Hunter's number even with him only being there 2 seasons. But retiring Shadeur's number is a complete joke.

On top of that, players love the single digit numbers and you are taking one of those out of circulation just to honor your son who was a decent QB but nothing special and almost certainly going to be a massive bust in the NFL.

Ok I actually did see that Hunter was one of the two to get number retired, I thought it was his two kids… I did you wrong Deion.

Do Darian Hagan or Eric Bienemy or any of the great defenders on the 89-90 teams that won a NC and played for one twice have their number retired? They should all obviously be ahead of this clown.

Edit: Just looked. Indeed they do not.

No you wouldn’t.
You're being silly. The world is this man's oyster with his 2-year Associate's Degree in Underwater Basket Weaving, not to mention the endorsement deals that come with it.

Dictating employment terms with your new employer is certainly a choice. That would be the same employer that pays you millions after you get injured because your body can't withstand the physicality of playing both sides of the ball.

Certainly seems like a perfect fit for the Cleveland Browns organization to me.

Yeah Stewart's number hasn't been retired, neither has Eric Bieniemy's who is their all-time rushing leader (yards and TDs) and was part of the 1990 national title team.

Honestly....I don't really think colleges should retire numbers other than in very rare situations (like Bruce Smith at the U). Do a ring of honor or whatever but don't actually retire the number. The U honors numbers like Carter's 22, Stephens 15 and a few others but those numbers are still in circulation.

Retiring Shadeur's number is a joke. When Sanders finally leaves I wonder if they will undo this stupidity and put #2 back in circulation.
