Seems like a reasonable question to ask based on the team’s underperforming this season, change in ownership and the fact that a consensus great HC is suddenly available.

Malone could get to stick it to the Nugs and would be highly motivated.

Finch seems like too nice a guy and you need a bit more authority figure, like Malone. I’m a Yes, what about you??

Are you asking for a prediction or a preference?

More ammo for the fire/firing, in the article below. I of course forgot to note that Connolly hired Malone in Denver as well.

Per this Athlon article. This is a fireable offense. Them guys need to toughen up.
I hope they lose in the first round, so it’s patently obvious to everyone.

The timing of Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone's firing was uncanny for the Minnesota Timberwolves team that has its own questions at head coach.

Just hours after Malone was fired, Wolves coach Chris Finch failed to stop his team from bleeding a 24-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves shot just 4 of 20 from the field and turned the ball over nine times, resulting in a 110-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, April
The Wolves' struggles to close out games, leading the NBA with 26 clutch-time losses, has put Finch's job security in question.

Malone, who won an NBA title with the Nuggets two years ago and is the winningest Denver coach of all-time, is an enticing replacement -- and the Wolves' opinion of him could cast more clouds over Finch.

What if Connelly goes back to Denver?

Malone has a title, but it did take him 8 years at Denver and to the League MVP to get the title. His overall win percent is .564 which is .001 less than Finch. If you look at their first 5 years with current team, Finch is better. In the past two years Finch has outcoached him badly. Finch certainly has some flaws, but he's still on an upward trajectory with this team - in spite of the late game meltdowns that he hasn't been able to fix this year. I'd keep Finch.

PA calls him Finchy Finchy. I don’t get it but maybe he would have a better nickname for Malone. Like ‘ leave m-alone’. Also nordo could make a wonderful song. Those are great ditties

"I think we're Malone now"

Sing that, Nordo.
