A questionable balk, and a half swing bleeder.26 pitch 1st inning for Lopez, getting through 5 will be a challenge.
The last half of this lineup is weak.Twins with bases loaded and 1 out in the top of the 2nd and can't get any runs home.
That works too!Looks like you will need to multi-task.
Our 1st 3 hitters were 0 for 12.The last half of this lineup is weak.
any rational provided on the telecast, why Wallner was leading off?Our 1st 3 hitters were 0 for 12.
The Costas intro for the Guardians on MLB.TV was pretty cool. I just caught it on DVR for the Twins Pregame I had programed.Wow, what a belly flop.

Twins’ new TV channel launches with wrong video featuring rival Guardians
It was a rough start for the Twins’ new TV channel, which launched with a Bob Costas-voiced video about ... the Guardians' new TV channel.www.nytimes.com
Well, Wallner is not a leadoff hitter and Buxton is a career .244 hitterOur 1st 3 hitters were 0 for 12.
and they only have 161 games left to catch them. The Twins are now chasing the 1st Place White Sox. (+ Guards)
Agree, especially about Wallner. Too many strikeouts and pop ups to be a lead off hitter. Just bad at bats. Don't get it.Well, Wallner is not a leadoff hitter and Buxton is a career .244 hitter
They just don't have the bats.
I didn't hear most of the broadcast, but it was pretty apparent in Spring Training that Wallner is going to be the primary lead off hitting.any rational provided on the telecast, why Wallner was leading off?
I have less of an issue with Wallner hitting 1st than Buxton hitting 3rd. He's way too streaky to hit that high. Needs to be 6th or lower.I didn't hear most of the broadcast, but it was pretty apparent in Spring Training that Wallner is going to be the primary lead off hitting.
I assume that they like his OB% and want to get him to the plate more often, which is the default for most teams decision as to pencil in the #1 spot.
I believe they played it during the post-game. It was also Costas. The Costas intro for the Guardians on MLB.TV was pretty cool. I just caught it on DVR for the Twins Pregame I had programed.
I wonder what they had for the Twins debut? Sucks if we never get to find out.
Shoot, I didn't stick with it post game. Switched to hoops.I believe they played it during the post-game. It was also Costas.
He seems to have a lot of bad luck often. Three of the singles he gave up yesterday had an xBA of .170 or lower.Lopez with a bad start to open the season.
Pablo López (MIN) @ STL (L) – 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 8 Hits, 0 BBs, 3 Ks – 11 Whiffs, 26% CSW, 87 pitches.
Man, PabLó looks so good and seemingly allows more hits than you feel like he should while watching him. The changeup was FILTHY in this one with five inches more drop than last year’s iteration, with stupid good location to LHB, yielding 5/18 whiffs, which has me all kinds of pumped for the year ahead. Sweepers were generally solid, sinkers were effective inside to RHB, and 95 mph velocity is all good here. I’m buying.
That is an odd disconnect. If nothing else, the Pohald's could slap one of their own companies patch on.I fully realize I'm probably the biggest skeptic when it comes to the team's financials, but if you're allegedly in massive debt, why would you not sell the ad space on your uniform?
They hit the ball pretty hard. Twins xBA of .270 resulted in just 3 hits. Cardinals with xBA of .237 and 10 hits.New batting coach paying big dividends already.
That's really hard to do.
That's like 3 outs from a no-hitter!That's really hard to do.
