Not sure why they engaged a search firm if they're going to promote him. They should but never have gone that route (Niko didn't get promoted when Tim Miles left either.)

We’ll be glad to have Ali here for a couple of years before his opportunity comes.

Craig Smith would be a good hire for CSU if they do go external.

If his Utah contract is just offset, he can come for minimum wage.

We might. We have their old coach Niko, more money, and we are in the Big Ten. The guys that think they can move up and make more money are going to consider it.

I don't see the issue with the players coming here. You're saying they owe it to their assistant to stay? What about collecting the cash here and staying with their head coach? Some of you speak as if Ali did everything and Niko just held the title

Hey, happy for CSU and their fans to keep a talented coach and probably at least some of their talented players. I for one did not want to see their program bombed back to the stone age.

For every one of those players Niko found while there, it stands to reason he'll find the same kind of talent now that he's here. It's just that it would be nice having a starting point of more than two guys on his roster. That said, some CSU players might still follow. The decision making process starts for them right now.

Plus anyone who we are after will have other power 5 schools after them too.
