Closing the barn door after the horses have escaped is usually not very successful. If I were that SID, I would make sure my resume is up to date and be looking for the box to clean out my office.
While I understand wanting to protect your coach and the team, this is more than a little unprofessional and will backfire on the University if not nipped in the bud.
 





NIL money must be really good for to play their. If he's talking like that after a loss, the players must get an earful anytime they make the littlest mistake.

After just watching the clip itself Hurley's comments seem hardly all that surprising. I could envision dozens of HCs saying something similar or much worse, following a season ending defeat. Barley even R rated.

The SID's response to the reporter seems beyond out of bounds and excuse laughable.

Since when can a stupid SID ruin anybody's life?
 




The UConn Communications guy got it right in his statement:

“The lasting image of coach Hurley leaving the court should have been his walking off the court arm-in-arm with his seniors, overwhelmed with emotion.”

What he got wrong is that it was Hurley's outburst and then his own reaction to the publication of that outburst that is the reason why that will not be the lasting image of that event.
 

The same people who dislike Hurley are the same ones who hated Bobby Knight.

That being said, what an idiotic thing for the SID to do.

Also, I would prefer to have a beer with Hurley vs Lil' Ricky or Izzo
