All Things 2025 NCAA Tournament Games Thread

Shaka Smart has an odd coaching record. He's no doubt successful in winning and yet has only made it to the Sweet 16 twice.

You'd think it's a regular season Vs. post season thing but he's won conference tourneys along with the NIT/CBI. Just can't seem to make much happen in the NCAA despite this resume:
  • 1 Final Four
  • 1 Sweet 16
  • 12 NCAA Berths
  • 12 Winning Conference Records
  • 11 Seasons With 20+ Wins
  • 1 NIT Championship
  • 1 CBI Championship
  • 1 Big East Regular Season Title
  • 1 Big 12 Tournament Title
  • 1 Big East Tournament Title
  • 1 Atlantic 10 Tournament Title
  • 1 Coastal Athletic Tournament Title

His hairline is thinning faster than a room full of Ozempic users though.
Back when he was coaching in MN, I got a tour of Williams, including the locker room. In the hallway leading to the locker room there was a huge in-game overhead photo of the whole arena (everyone was teeny) and was told from our host (someone in the know) that Richard had the original photo replaced because it showed his bald spot on top.

This Illinois-Xavier game is good basketball.

OU fans on twitter are praying for Nova to hire Porter Moser.

Seems like Richard found the fountain of youth, he looked younger in the post game interview
The problem is nobody is asking Richard the tough questions. Like does your rental car have a full tank of gas. WCCO would have done a full investigated report before the game.

I don't think either is likely but I don't know which is more likely.
If CSU doesn't get dominated by Queen, they can play with them because they defend the guards pretty well, and Clifford is not a great matchup for Maryland either. But as others have said, when Maryland is on, it's tough.

No.

Hell no.
I agree to your "Hell no" response to golf's recommendation of "Play the games at the highest seed."

How about play games at the lowest seed with 14 seed or lower! They're going to need all the help they can get with NIL & the portal gutting their rosters of their best players. Why not help them earn at least a little money to compete? Can you imagine the chaos, arguing and conspiracy theories from teams trying to actually get the 4th seed instead of 3rd seed so they don't have to play at some small school's home arena? How cool would it be when all the TV people flood into some small school campus sort of like when College Game Day visits a rare place during football season? If a low seed actually won, how crazy would their home arena and town get?

I'm predicting March Madness turns into March Fairly Predictable moving forward so we'll need something to stir the pot!!!

Handicap the games... If you're a 16 playing a 1, you get a 15 point lead to start the game 🤯

Good thing we avoided Will Wade.

Almost got doubled up vs Purdue, 38-20 at half.
