2025 Transfer Portal Watch

Here's one who just dropped in:

Cooper Schwieger

He's a 6'9" soph forward from Valparaiso. 15.8 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, 85% free throw shooter (that would be nice!). Scored in double figures in 30 of 34 games this season including all of the last 25 games. 21.8 Player Efficiency Rating

He was 2nd Team All Missouri Valley as a soph and All Freshman and Rookie of the Year in 2024. He would have a lot of offers I think.
The dismantling of Valpo starts...hard to be a MM coach these days, right when they were building some momentum.

Next guy that goes will be alright

But what did little Caesar’s do according to the tinder blog? That’s what we really need to know
At this specific Little Ceasar's there was homeless people dumpster diving for pizza and they eventually found out and started giving free pizza and pop to them

Some saying he’s already been offered $2M and knows where he’s going.

That seems like a lot for him. He had a good game overall against us but he didn't do so much when Frank Mitchell was guarding him. He's also not so great as a rebounder.

Watched him a bit in the OVC conference tournament. Nice handle and can really share the rock.

I see Iowa has lost 3 of their 5 starters by way of the portal.

Not surprising to see some Iowa guys jumping in the portal while their coaching situation is up in the air.
Certainly!!! The same would be true for the Gopher if they had more than a couple of players left from this years team. Asuma isn't going anywhere regardless of the coaching change simply because his brother is coming to play baseball for the U

Little surprised Frank hasn't put his name in the portal but would love to see him stick around with the next coach. He really started playing well late in the year and could be a nice front court piece next year.

Agree that Asuma is most likely sticking around regardless but you never know in this current landscape.

Some even said they may return.
Honestly, with the way things are right now, if I was a college player and my head coach got fired I would almost certainly put my name in the portal but keep the option open to return once the new coach was hired. Little risk in the new coach not wanting you but would guess that would be a pretty small risk in most cases.

that could certainly be what Frank the Tank is feeling. its not like teams will be lining up for his services. in his case i think its smart to slow play it, let the coach get in, have a honest conversation on the future and go from there

That is a good way of thinking and maybe they already know that Nico is going to be the head coach and thinks that he can stick around

Frank's advanced stats are pretty good. His player efficiency rating in conference games was 22.6 (barely behind Garcia's rating). If he qualified (in terms of minutes) for the leaderboard, he would be #1 in offensive rebound percentage and #4th in total rebound percentage in the conference. He managed this while being significantly undersized compared to other centers in the league. If he gets the ball near the basket, he puts it in with a high completion rate. And, as we've seen, he is very good at putting in missed shots.

He definitely will have some interest even if teams are looking for him to play only about 15-20 minutes per game.
