Straying from latest suspension talk, a few observations from my first glimpse of the Gophers on Monday night.

Mo Walker reminded me of Cookie Holmes of Big Ten Championship fame, although as one of my section peers noted, perhaps he has a few more cookies than Cookie did. Big boy, who will be an effective player against smaller foes, but will need to improve his speed getting up and down the court.

Austin Hollins has the frame of Quincy Lewis as a freshman (and I think the same number) and similar form on the jump shot, with a strange but high release. If Hollins develops the way Quincy did, we will all be happy. Given the roster predicament, Hollins appears to be a key element for early season success. He appears to be a smart player who moves without the ball, and hopefully will not pass up shots that might be given to him by the opposition. We will need shots from him.

I have never seen Trevor play before Monday night, and noticed he was the most pigeon toed D-1 athlete I have ever seen. Very pronounced. He is a machine, but it amazes me how quick he is given the pigeon toed posture.

I am glad the games are beginning.

lebron is the opposite.. he walks like a duck... i always thought either extreme was a waste of motion... enough so that you couldn't compete at an elite level... this is obviously not true... and to my Aunt that told me this when i was a kid
