2023-2024 College Basketball Other Games Thread

The best of the 16 D1 games today is probably the big match up in the Ivy with Yale @ Cornell. Both 8-1 and winner grabs 1st place.

Houston/Baylor going to OT. Shead just misses a buzzer beating three by a tenth or two of a second.

Did something happen to Mizzou? They were a solid at times and competitive team. Have lost 13 straight. Sincere Q.
They lost 8 guys off last year's team, including first round pick Kobe Brown, who took an official visit to Minnesota once upon a time, and a couple of G League guys.

Iowa at Illinois is kind of a shootout, 70-67 Iowa with 8 and a half to go. I think Illinois was favored by maybe 9.5. Would really like to see Iowa lose some of these games so we can stay ahead of them in Big Ten Tournament seeding.

Illinois kind of took control from here. 92-83 Illinois with a minute to go.

Filipowski helped off court after court storming in Winston Salem.
Yep, enjoy court storming now because it’s not going to be allowed soon. Honestly they could easily try to encourage fans to just wait until the visiting team is off the court. Either fans start waiting or it won’t be allowed anymore.

Virginia scored 16 in the 1st half tonight against Virginia Tech. That included a stretch from about 9:30 left in the first half to 17:30 in the 2nd where they scored 2 points. That’s 2 points in a 12 minute stretch!
They’re following it up with 6 points so far with 7:10 left in the 1st half. 1 for their last 18 FG attempts. Brutal.

Indiana booed off the court at the half.
As they (Coaches) should. There is no excuse for Indiana to be bad in basketball, especially with financial and donor backing that they get. Brother is an IU guy and per him, the Coaches (Woodson) has lost this team.

Does Monson still get a percentage of the guarantee in those games as part of his contract? Pretty controversial when it became public but interesting negotiation by his agent.
I can't believe he's still there!

DePaul and Georgetown are knotted up at 68 with four minutes remaining. DePaul looking for their first conference win and their fourth win overall.

Henley drives the entire court with 8 seconds remaining and gets directly to the rim.....where he misses an open game winning layup.

Henley missed a layup with a few seconds left and DePaul falls to 3-24.
