Which unemployed coach would you prefer?

Of coaches that are currently not employed as a coach anywhere else, which would you prefer.
 

Mike Leach, I think he gives us an identity. I believe his offense can work here and would favor us in certain parts of recruiting.
 

Leach 1st:clap:, Bellotti a close 2nd:), Fulmer a distant 3rd.:cry:
 


Belotti. First, the U won't touch Leach, so there's no sense pining for him. Second, I have a sinking feeling that for one reason or another it wouldn't work out. Maybe he'd have an 'incident' and the U would over-react and usher him out. Maybe his offense won't work in the North. Maybe he'd bolt for Georgia or somewhere similar after one year. I'm not sure what, but I don't feel good about it.
 



Bellotti would be my first choice. To me there is less question marks around him and he has a track record of getting outstanding assistant coaches so even if he does retire in 7-10 years I think the chances of finding an in-house replacement is far greater.
 

Leach or Bellotti would be just fine. I do prefer Leach though, for a number of reasons.
 

Belotti is my first choice from former coaches

Defense first guy, build from there.

I'm the only one who picked Fulmer? I guess a national championship doesn't count for much around here.
 

Jim Leavitt. What he did at USF is remarkable. Started program from scratch to Div 1 and actually won some big games. Great recruiter. Will bring FL speed to MN. They were ready for a new coach and used crazy situation to fire him w/o paying his contract. Tireless worker. He will win games. No question.
 

Bellotti is 60 years old. If he takes the job how long will he want to stick around? That's really my only concern with him, otherwise he'd be great.

So is Fullmer. That southern drawl just doesn't seem very Minnesota like. We would probably have to hire one of those ever present deputy sheriff's with the wide brim hat to escort him off the field.

Bellotti would be my choice. Can you say funky uni's??
 

Bellotti !!! - I have a couple of friends in Oregon who are close to the Duck program. They both agree that Bellotti would be a huge get for the Gophers.
 


I don't mind an older coach. It's been a long, long time since a coach has retired here. If the coach retires, there can be an orderly transition from the current coach to the new coach, with the current coach being part of the process. Passing the baton instead of a disorderly transition.

Of course that is a possibility. But when i hear about all the infighting that goes on with the PSU coaching staff lately, plus 'outside' guys like Golden who seem to be waiting on pins and needles for something to go down there, I just can only laugh.

If an older coach can take our program to a point where the job would be desired like Penn State then count me in.

Except for 2007 and 2008, Leach's T-Tech teams would never have won more than 3 or 4 games in the Big Ten. I'm not sure how this is any different than Glen Mason.
