All Things 2023 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Now I see, it was that trade. That's why it's still a thorn in your foot.

Get over it man

The Vikings will never tank. Never.

Own it.

You are projecting an opinion that I am not advocating. Nowhere did I suggest the Vikings should tank. Never.

You asked a question. I responded. That's it.

I responded.
I don't consider your response valid.

Certainly -- the 89 Cowboys had their plan set in place before the season started.

What people in this thread were advocating for was "OK, the season is starting to suck, so now let's tank".

When has a team ever done that?

I say never. Never has happened. You either were going to be a 1-2 win team from the start, anyway, or you weren't.

You can't cheat your way into it. Karma won't allow it. You'll get a Trubinsky

I'm not really into the "tank vs go for every victory" debate one way or another.

I just watch the games. Winning more fun.

You might be correct, and yet one and only one objective fact remains as true today as it has in the previous X weeks:

trying to get as many wins as you can this season is the only objectively correct position for our staff to take.

Thus, if Mullens gives a better chance to win over Hall, you start Mullens.

If Hall gives a better chance, you start Hall. But that is the only valid reason to do so.
I think Hall gives them a better chance to win. Games are won and lost on turnovers and Mullens doesn't take care of the football.

I don't see any way they go to Hall this week. 3 different QBs in 3 weeks is a bit nuts.

Yup. It is nuts. A lot of it will depend on how KOC reads his locker room. These are highly unusual circumstances and the worst thing for KOC and the team today and going forward would be for him to lose the confidence of the team. If Darrisaw, JJ, Hockenson, Hunter, Smith, Mettalus and even Flores think Hall is the best option to win games at this point, he should listen. The additional benefit is finding out if he is starter material.

It’s fair to think we should win every game we can and also wonder what going 8-9 accomplishes
Oh, sure. It “accomplishes” nothing other than being a superior outcome to a 7-10, 6-11, etc season.

That is a fair hypothesis, but I don’t know what you can possibly base it on given how little we’ve seen Hall. Coaching staff obviously knows more than we do.

Another valid hypothesis, but again what anchors this to reality?? Why would these guys be studying practice and game film of the QB?

So it was all for attention. He was never going to play.

Glad he’s with the Jets, that’s a three ring circus made in heaven; the Jets now have the longest time out of the playoffs, 13 years, of any pro franchise in the 4 biggest leagues.

Packers in disarray

In fairness the nfl owners are evil. The fact that the nfl union is so weak to not have guaranteed contracts in the most violent sport ever is amazing. i remember the year before greenway walked away. The Vikings basically said we won’t play you that much so take a pay cut or we will cut you. He took a pay cut and they played the hell out of him. The Vikings are gonna do the same thing to Harrison Smith this offseason. Now a days with games on Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and being played in England, Germany, and wherever else they like on shitty fields it’s amazing more people don’t get hurt.

They are asked to take a pay cut, because they are a shell of their former self.

Greenway had fallen off the map as has Harrison.

So yes, take a pay cut.
