All Things 2023 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Think that bunt with only one out was a big mistake especially since it jammed the third base runner. Might have been able to score another run there. Hoping these 5 runs hold up.

This will be a nice save to the weekend of Minnesota Sports.

There, now I did it!

The way Lewis just ran 1st to 3rd, could we see a return to field soon?

DJ Rayburn first 6 innings wouldn’t give a centimeter off the plate. In the 7th it’s a strike all over the place.

Even in the same at bat. That other pitch was at the exact same height. Called a ball.

Julien comes through to get another run.

Apparently Houston has announced Verlander go Game 5 if necessary. We know Javier has Game 3. Hunter Brown threw tonight so gotta believe it’s France for Game 4. That sets up pretty well for the good guys.

Still an hour left for "This Day In Twins History".

On October 8, 1987 a couple of Twin Cities locals faced each other in G2 of the ALCS. The kid from Bloomington got the better of a St Paul native as Kent Hrbek swats a big fly off Jack Morris.

Twins 6, Tigers 3 to go up 2 games to none.

Tuesday is huge. Sonny on the mound for the Twins. win that, and they're up 2-1 with a chance to clinch at home.

Houston going with Cristian Javier.
Javier 10-5 / ERA 4.56 /WHIP 1.27 / 162 IP/ 159 K /62 BB /25 HR

Sonny 9-8 /ERA 2.71 /WHIP 1.15 /189 IP/ 189 K / 57 BB / 8 HR

I think there is something to not playing for 5 days.

Again, I love what the Twins are doing but literally despise the playoff setup.
They really should re-seed after the WC Round. Teams with the best record should be playing those with the worst record, regardless if they were Division Champs or not.

Would have resulted in:

ALDS
Twins @ Orioles
Rangers @ Astros

NLDS
Diamondbacks @ Braves
Phillies @ Dodgers

The NL is really puzzling as both a Wild Card Teams won. Seems like an easy fix.

The guys on MLB-TV said the same thing.

The Braves were shut out by the Phillies #3 pitcher, who was not afraid to pitch inside. The reason... during simulated games, the pitchers throw over the plate & away, but not inside. BTW that was only the 3rd time this season the Braves were shut out, and the first at home.
