Would you be happy if we finished at 7-5 this year?

All 5 of those games are very losable on their own, but if we go 0-5 against those 5, it would mean we aren't a very good team. Good teams find a way to win at least some of the time against other good teams. So no, I'd be disappointed with that result. Not calling for the coaches head disappointed, but still a negative outcome.
 

10-2. No less. PJ has been here 7 years!!! 10-2 or he ain’t the man. Fire him and hire Rossi!
 

I like this team. Barring a season long shitshow of an offensive line performance or tons of injuries, I think we push through and finish with at least 8 wins. 8 I'm happy, anything less we left something on the table. Need to go at least 5-4 in conference to show we continue to move in the right direction, even with this schedule. I think this year's roster is the next step upwards progression of this team under Fleck.
 





In 2018, I was thrilled, because I could see what was coming together and ABSOLUTELY knew what was going to happen in 2019 -- in fact I was telling everyone I knew. So, I really don't care what the record is this year. I care about seeing the signs that tell me all of the pieces are forming a team. If the team can actually come together inside of this season, so much the better. But I basically don't care. I just want to see the things I need to see to know it'll be together by next year.
 



7-5 (5-4) would mean another winning big ten season.


I definitely wouldn’t be happy at 7-5. But I also wouldn’t be mad.


I think anything less than 10-2 I’ll be disappointed and thinking we should’ve been 10-2
Unless we are dog and finish 5-7. Then I’ll be like….that’s a tough schedule for a dog team.
 

7-5 could certainly be a season with some fun times against this schedule.

I would be disappointed with 7-5 as constructed above - lose all the big games.

I could see a fun 7-5 with winning the Axe and Floyd, or beating Ohio State or Michigan. But not a big 0-fer in the likely underdog games, especially when all but Ohio State or Michigan are very winnable.
 

That’s not growth.. That’s not being your best.
 







10-2 is absolute ceiling unless we pull off a crazy upset of either Ohio State or Michigan. Hard for me to say that the probable absolute best case is also the minimum acceptable case for “happiness.”
7-5 means we beat the teams we should (based on preseason estimates) and won a toss-up against the Illini, but lost to all teams (5) ranked better than us. I’ll take it, but would feel kind of “meh@ given the rave reviews PJ is giving this teams. 8-4 means we were underestimated a bit preseason. 9-3 would make me very happy, because we got some monkeys off our back and probably kept the Axe.

If, however, after three games we are 3-0 (having dispatched both Nebraska and North Carolina)—meaning this team’s potential is real and surfacing—my minimum expectations for “happiness” tick up a notch or two. Go Gophers.
 

This is the league. Sorry. It won't get easier when the four Pac 12 teams join. Losing both to WI and IA will always make it disappointing, especially now that we've been ascending. Beyond that, it's time we start playing OSU and Michigan without thinking they're automatic losses.
 

Absolutely not. If no-talent clowns like Kill and Claeys (I'm told) can rack up 8 or 9 wins, I expect no less from genius like PJ Fleck.
 

I think we will be 7-5 or 8-4. Tough schedule, lots of new players. Wouldn't be thrilled with 7-5 but wouldn't be mad either.
 


The only game that we might be outclassed in will be the Michigan game. I just don't see us hanging with them. Other than Michigan, we could and should be in a position to win all other games that we might not be favored in.
 


Obviously a lot hinges on how the games themselves go but on the surface a 7-5 record like that would be disappointing because it would mean going 0-5 in all the games that would truly matter to fans from the stand point of rivalries and games against higher profile teams.

I can't really see a scenario where I would be happy with 7-5. Potentially OK with it depending on how the season plays out but not happy.

Don’t think we’ll be underdogs in five games. Maybe only two.

We don’t think that, especially at home against Michigan.
 


I'm going for a 9-win season, including our win in our bowl game.

If at the end of the season, we've only played 12 games, that means no bowl game, so something has gone really wrong, which would put me in the "Should have done better" category.

For whatever reason, I'm pretty pumped about our chances in that Michigan game. Something about it feels like we're gonna come in and hit em in the mouth. Michigan has been great the last few years but too inconsistent over time, Harbaugh and Co are gonna flub this one.
 

The only 7-5 I’m happy with is the scenario where we go 0-3 in the OOC schedule but 7-2 in conference and win the West with victories over wisconsin and Iowa along the way.
