Figured i’d start this with the Tourney starting on Tuesday, most section finals are Thursday and Friday

A: #1 ranked Goodhue and #8 Spring Grove will meet in a section final on Thursday, Spring Grove beat 2 time defending state champions Hayfield in the semi final

Minnesota commit Isaac Asuma and #5 Cherry play #10 Northland tonight in the section semi final

AA: #1 Holy Family, #3 MCA and #6 Minneapolis North all in one section, North and MCA face off tonight

other elite teams Minnehaha, Lake City, Albany all still alive in section play, while #4 LCWM was beaten by #5 Maple River in the semi final

AAA: Many great section finals on paper, most of which are on Thursday,

Defending State champs #1 Totino Grace face off with #6 Mahtomedi

#2 BSM vs #4 Orono, former Gopher Basketball player Damian Johnson is the head coach at BSM

#3 DeLaSalle vs #5 St. Thomas Academy should be a good one

AAAA: Wayzata beat Hopkins by 5 last night in a packed gym to punch the first ticket to the tourney

Park Center, Lakeville North, and Wayzata the consensus top 3

other section finals include:

Eagan vs Eastview on Thursday

East Ridge vs White Bear Lake on Thursday

Minnetonka vs Chanhassen on Friday

Andover vs Cambridge Isanti on Thursday

6AA.
Albany over Sauk Centre
Albany was in control all game over Sauk Centre and the final was never in doubt but Sauk put up a good fight in the 2nd half. Jay Nuebert for Sauk went over 2,000 points last night as a junior. Fun player to watch. Albany is just so good across the board. And much like some of the Melrose and Annandale teams in the past in this section, they have 2-3 guys off the bench that you see basically no slow down in play for them.

Milaca over Mora 69-68
heck of a game. Teams meeting for the 3rd time this year and it was a dog fight. as an outside observer these teams seemed to not like each other. the guard for Milaca is the type of guy who would be fun to play with but horrible to play against. #12 for Mora i think is only a sophomore but the kid is about as fast/quick of guy you see in this class.

Albany VS Milaca in the final @ St. Cloud State
Albany has beat Milaca twice already this year. first game by 12. 2nd game by 35. Would expect Albany to cruise in this one. And Albany will be a player at the state tournament. They got the big time player in Gerads. And so many guys after that its hard to keep track of them all. Hondl, Borgerding, Austin, Reis, Imholte

by the way. Section 6AA does it right.
1st round games at high seed. after that neutral site games that are about as fun of atmosphere as you can get.

Spring Grove over Goodhue 57-48

WBL over East Ridge 57-55

DLS over STA 65-46

Totino over Mahtomedi 77-46

Orono over BSM 66-62

Andover over Cambridge-Isanti 106-79

Eastview over Eagan 63-36

St. Francis over Princeton in OT 59-58

Hermantown over Duluth Denfeld 70-59

All punch their ticket to the State tournament

so an upset in the A sections on Wednesday night.
Section 6A Border West beat BBE 51-47

but some drama surrounding that game......any central MN people hear more about it? An official book/ref blunder

Lakeville North pulled away in the second half against South down at the
Civic Center in Rochester. It was a one point game at half. South just didn’t have the height to challenge Winter who had about 19.

Winter who chose the Badgers. I hope Nolan and Ben are still close

I’m well aware. Was just bigger than opponents but didn’t dominate. Will take a few years to determine if Nolan goes the way of Wahl or Carlson. Seems like a great kid in general.

The jr that committed to the skunks has a long ways to go.

They didnt play in Madison??

Well their school colors are red. Anyways I don’t think they will win state.
In case this hasn't been posted- it looks like we get to see Asuma in the state tournament. This is quote a productive stat line!

So I think this is the way the Boys State Tourney matches up -

4A:
Andover vs #1 Park Center
#5 Eastview vs #4 Minnetonka
Buffalo vs #2 Lakeville North
White Bear Lake vs #3 Wayzata

3A:
St. Francis vs #1 Totino-Grace
#5 Alexandria vs #4 Mankato East
Hermantown vs #2 Orono
Stewartville vs #3 De La Salle

2A:
Eden Valley-Watkins vs #1 Holy Family
#5 Minnehaha Academy vs #4 Maple River
Pequot Lakes vs #2 Albany
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton vs #3 Plainview-Elgin-Millville

1A: qualifiers - waiting for seeding
Sect 1 Spring Grove
Sect 2 Mankato Loyola
Sect 3 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton
Sect 4 New Life Academy
Sect 5 Nevis
Sect 6 Border West
Sect 7 Cherry
Sect 8 Sacred Heart (beat Fosston on Saturday)

If I was a betting man, I would guess RTR gets #1 seed with Cherry, New Life Academy and Spring Grove at 2, 3, 4 in some order.

Thanks. That was surprisingly hard to find some scores.

I use the MN ScoreFeed app. (full disclosure - guy who runs it is an online friend of mine). they do a nice job of updating scores, and they have Section and State tournament brackets.

it's crowd-sourced, so anyone watching a game can do live score updates.

kinda surprised Totino got the 1 in AAA, I thought it would be Orono

Thanks. I’ve found it ridiculously hard in internet era compared to when the 90s when Newspapers ruled. Heck, It was easier to follow when I was in the Amry pre internet. So this is likely what I need.

Class A seeds are in (pause while I pat myself on the back.....)

Nevis vs #1 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton
#5 Border West vs #4 Cherry
Sacred Heart vs #2 New Life Academy
Mankato Loyola vs #3 Spring Grove

Any one know the story on Taison Chatman from Totino? He is an Ohio State signee but just haven't seen or heard as much as you might expect from a big time recruit. You would think that he would be the main offensive scorer, but have not seen any blow up games. I saw he was listed as a MN Mr. Basketball candidate early on but is not in the final five.

Looks like they are the number one team in 3A tourney. No idea on everything else.

pretty sure he’s been injured off and on. also totino is crazy stacked so they don’t have to ask him to do much. Regardless probably not the senior season he was hoping for but he’s definitely had a better 2nd half of the season

Cherry struggled their way through the section. Barely won by 25 in the final!

Will have to set up the TV to stream. Games tomorrow?

I had to look up who Border West was. Clinton-Graceville must be hurting for numbers.
