Fixing this problem would instantly eliminate 10 points per game. Can we bring back Roof? Seriously, the scheme doesn't look too complicated. Either the players are not smart, or Cosgrove can't reach them.

Not lining up correctly defensively is currently the number 1 problem facing the gophers.

And Then - Tackling Is Poor

Lined up wrong, and poor tackling once the play is run.

Reminds me of that old saw from coach John McKay: "We might be small, but we're slow."

Would Roof be able to prevent Iowa from scoring 55 or Northwestern's quarterback from scrambling for 200+ this time around?

It's all because Kim Royston broke his leg 6 months ago....

Roof did hold Northwestern to fewer than 20 points and 0 in the second half. That loss was largely on the offense.
If the offense had come to play at all against Iowa, it still would have been ugly, but ugly in the 30's not the 50's.

It's not like we let Roof go, he just left to go make more $$$... He didn't want to be here anymore (maybe it was a stepping stone for him), and the best of luck to him.

We need to spend some dollars.

Another McKayism that fits here too is "We didn't tackle well today but we made up for it by not blocking."
