NFL Scouting Combine

God I hope they touch none of those qbs listed
Will Levis sitting behind cousins for two years would’ve ideal.. Anthony Richardson is a huge project and wouldn’t touch him before 6th or 7th rd.
Imo Dorian Thompson-Robinson has way more upside than Anthony Richardson..

Kinda ridiculous to grade the Vikings draft when Cine, Booth and Evans were injured most of the year. Ingram started essentially his entire Rookie season as a late 2nd round pick. Nailor, Otomewo and Asamoah played a lot of football in the final month of the season for later round picks.

The final grade for this draft will hinge on Cine, Booth and/or Evans asserting themselves as starters or major contributors by the end of this coming season, and maybe Ingram, Asamoah taking the next step forward in their development.

Agree on DTR. Think he’s also going to be a middling guy at the next level. Richardson Will wow you one play, then disappear for the rest of the game. Agree I wouldn’t touch him until the late rounds but someone will fall in love with his athleticism and think he’s going to be Lamar or Mike Vick.
I don’t understand any of the Levis hype. Because he looks like a QB? He screams bust to me. Hyper arrogant. Ran away from PSU. Did nothing at Kentucky. This team is a long way away. Roll with Kirk for the next 3 years.
Honestly Young looks fine. But I don’t think he’s going to take any team over the top. Reminds me of Tua in that he throws a nice ball, but lacks Elite end arm strength and is on the smaller/slighter/more fragile side. Better scrambler but don’t see him as an elite talent.
Stroud I think ends up the best of them, but even he I don’t think is a pro bowl talent. To me it’s a year where the barrenness at the very top will make people overreach on what’s there. If I was a GM up at the top, I absolutely move my pick. I’m sure Chicago will find a suitor and I’d way rather have fields.

I was wondering how Ibrahim was going to overcome his 40 time. I guess just not running it is one way to deal with it but I don’t think it overcomes his biggest question mark either.

I am curious why you think DTR has more upside than Richardson, Richardsons skillset is the best in the draft hes a freak, reminds me of Allen with the accuracy concerns. He definitley needs to sit 2 or 3 years in order to be successful, hes BOOM or BUST

I think it's like when you're graduating college and putting your resume together. If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, you list it. If not, you leave the GPA off your resume.

I would imagine he runs at the Gopher pro day.

I heard that the Vikes were scheduled to hold in-person interviews with up to 40 players at the combine.

so all of the stories about "Vikes talk with Player X at Combine" are a little silly. they're talking to a lot of people. they only have 4 draft picks. Ergo, they are talking to a lot of players who will not be drafted by the Vikings. and some of the interviews could very well be done as a way to eliminate candidates. If Player Y has a bad interview, you cross his name off the list. but you don't know until you talk to him face-to-face.

For me, his biggest question mark is that he is a 200 lbs power running back. Regardless of how he runs, we all know he isn't going to be a speedster in the NFL, he has to run violently to be effective and can someone with his frame do that in the NFL?

He has to be one of those guys who they look at game film. He is not going blow anyone away. I think he is kind of a Emmit Smith back who lets the whole develop. I've seen a lot of guys who are really fast that don't follow their blocks very well.
Just on another subject. Do they ever just do a 20 yard dash. I think for a lot of these positions that would be more valuable than a 40. Even a 10 or 15 yard dash for a lineman ... both vertically and pulling. I don't watch the combine so maybe they do something like that. Just wondering.

The 40 at the combine also includes a time for the first 10 yards, which is weighed pretty heavily by a lot of people depending on the position. It's discussed quite a bit this time of the year.

I'm hopeful that, once he lands on a squad as either a draft pick or udfa, he opens some eyes with his vision. We've seen what Mo can do even when the defense knows he's coming. Hopefully wherever he goes he's got some good linemen in front of him trying to land roster spots who put him in that position.

The one NFL back that I knew (I'll leave his name off the post) said fans look for yardage, coaches look at if they pick up the blitz. In other words, you've gotta know how to block to get on the field. Mo can block.

So who gets a combine invite next year? Tyler Nubin & Brevyn Spann Ford I assume. Anyone else?

One of the grad transfers - Tyler or Crooms - seem like a possibility.

Maybe CrAB if he's healthy and has a good year (fingers crossed).

Wright (assuming draft/combine eligible) is a guy that if he has the same chemistry with AK over a full season as he showed in a small sample size is a guy I'm sure scouts would love to see in person.

Ersery and Carroll were all-big hm last year...Callahan and Fleck rave about Ersery talent...

Walley is very good...this will be year three.

Staff loves Green...say he may have more talent than Howden.

Lindenberg can be an NFL player. Selig trying to follow that Gibbens route to the league.

Carter, Baugh, Jalen, Jah, Striggow, Jefferies, Collins are talented.

Daniel Jackson made big steps forward last year.

As mentioned above, Nubin and BSF could be draftes...Tyler will get chance to prove himself...Spencer, Crooms, CAB.

Potts?

AK may just shock the Big.

Brady Weeks. This year they invited a single long snapper, I'm going with that person being Brady for next year.
