Isaac Asuma Commits to Gophers!!!!!!!!!!!

Asuma on his commitment to Minnesota

“What made me choose Minnesota was the coaching staff and my relationship with them, knowing they’ll make me a better person and basketball player,” Asuma said to On3. “I think they have a great vision for the future of the program. I also chose them because my family would be able to make it to a lot of games and support me.”

What type of player is Minnesota getting in Isaac Asuma, in his own words?

“I am a steady guard who can do a little bit of everything. My biggest strength is my playmaking ability. I can shoot the three, handle the ball and set my teammates up.”

Go Gophers!!

Wonder if he knew how the Gophers game ended right then.....considering they were playing at the same time.

Hopefully he doesn't develop. Because then the dollar offers will come.
We don't always have to assume everything in all situations is going to come down to money. Maybe a local kid really wants to stay home and play for the Gophers....it does happen.

I hope we eventually get his 8th grade cousin too. Last year as a 7th grader he was fantastic I think he is hurt this year

Great night! He is definitely excited to be a Gopher!
Can he reclassify and come a year early? :)

This.

A good PG establishes the entire offensive rhythm, and, if need be, can take over a game from time to time if the team needs it. As others have pointed out many times, guard play is usually the difference maker in a lot of games.

Because Asuma is 6-3 185 already he might get to 195 by the time he plays for us.

Meaning if we still want some speedy guards, Isaac can guard a sg with his size.

Offers versatility the same way Eric Harris did that and bobby Jackson guarded the quicker pg’s.

IA sounds like the type of kid that will really be fun to get behind. If his success follows from Cherry to the U, he could be a leader that help change the direction of Gopher men’s basketball.
