NDSU & SDSU still alive in FCS playoffs

Can we get the Rabbits OC? They are pretty creative. I'm only half kidding.

NDSU is getting abused at LOS, saw on the TV their averaging 10 yards a play!!!

So do the South Dakota people trash talk the NDSU people?

Their offense is way more creative and fun to watch than ours. Has been for years they just hadn’t had the defense to keep up with NDSU. Their D is great this year so they got over the hump.

SDSU 45 - NDSU 21

What a shame....

Hopefully the Bison get curbstomped down in Texas this year.
Pretty much. Denied the Bison a late TD to make the score look slightly better.

SDSU beats NDSU in Fargo and Frisco. Undoubtedly the better program this year.

Poor Bison, with only 10 champtionships in the last 12 seasons. Or something silly like that.

Division is beyond depleted. There are only a couple handfuls of programs left, that aren't already slated to move up, in the CAA, MVFC, and Big Sky that can realistically compete with the Dakotas in FCS.

It's a joke

My brother played 4 SDSU- go Jacks ! 1st school Natty !!
Congrats to Stig!!!

Went to SDSU as a 39 year old in 1997, when the program was a joke in the DII NCC. 26 years later, slowing building and improving, and he's finally a national champion.

Also congrats to the leadership of SDSU who had the vision to make the move up with NDSU back in 2004. Took them longer to build it up, but they now have very impressive facilities and a fantastic program.

SDSU was clearly the better team. the NDSU QB just could not throw the ball well enough to present a real dual threat. Don't want to seem mean, but after the run of QB's the Bison have had, this guy doesn't look very good by comparison. If Lance is still playing, it would have been a much closer game.

and with SDSU bringing a lot of players back next year, they certainly go into the season as the favorites in their conference.

I'm just going to say it - I think SDSU would have given the Gophers a real battle. I think MN would have won - but not by a big margin.

They gave us a real battle the last time the Gophers played the Jacks. This year would have been no different. Those teams players will always have a chip on their shoulders when playing against higher division teams. Without how good Iowa's defense was, the Jacks would have upset them at home. Like someone else said, without the injury, the SDSU QB was outplaying Iowa QB Petras, and would have made a difference.

I haven't seen anything officially announced yet, but it sounds like Stiegelmeier is going to ride off into the sunset with this victory and retire, and AHC/DC Jimmy Rogers will take over as SDSU's head coach.

Why is this game, which I call the "NDSU invitational", played in Frisco, TX (Dallas area) every year? They should move it around, or just have it at US Bank so they can fill it with SD and ND fans.

Because Frisco bid on the game and signed a multi-year contract. It is an odd location though. A soccer stadium in suburban Dallas.

I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone involved just likes to say “Frisco”.

They already did give us a real battle, back in 2019. Have you already forgotten? 😅

Their team this season was stronger than that team, so they may well have beaten us this year if we played them instead of Western Illinois (same conference).

It used to be in Chattanooga, TN. Which was great when App State won three in a row, back in the early-mid 2000's before moving up to FBS.

Frisco won the bid when they next put it out. I don't know if they've put it out to bid again, or are just satisfied with the job Frisco has done. Relatively central in the country with a lot of flights to Dallas.

I think it works great for FCS. Odd location compared to what? Baseball stadium in downtown Phoenix?

I was thinking maybe somewhere warmer. I remember one year there was a nasty ice storm in Dallas the week of the game.

I have friends that have gone to all the games there (NDSU family) and love the stadium and location. The stadium is right-sized for FCS and looks pretty darn nice. DFW is super easy to travel to. Lodging and travel are both pretty affordable for a major metro. The weather in early January is usually decent for football...though Houston, Florida and/or California would have more dependable winter weather if a stadium there ever steps up with a good offer.
