This should be a good one...

Thursday 11/17 @ 5:30PM on BTN
Friday 11/18 @ 5:00PM on BTN

Weird days and times but it is what it is. I don't mind Thursday games for away games as it's more interesting to me than Thursday night football.

Key to the weekend: Stay out of the box. Michigan PP is 32.1% (2nd in the nation). Gopher PK is 79.4% (34th in the nation). Michigan is also averaging the most goals per game in the country.

Brock Faber vs. potential #1 overall Adam Fantilli. Michigan also has first rounders Luke Hughes, Rutger McGroarty, and Mackie Samoskevich. First round freshman Frank Nazar is out for at least a few months.

Can Cooley surprise and have a bigger impact on the weekend than Fantilli? Can the Gophers at least tie in the special teams battle over the weekend?

This is the one away series of the year where a split (that is, three points however you want to do it) wouldn't be a disappointment at all. Then could try to take more points when they visit Mariucci.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I usually hate the "ok with a split" mentality, but on the road against a top 5 team, I'd say it's fair. Should be a fun couple of games.

Doesn't have to be now but sooner rather than later I'd like to shake up the lines a bit with our forwards. It feels like most games only 1 or 2 lines show up and I think distributing the skill would help. No need to change 18-24-22 because they are on a tear right now however early in the season Cooley, Pitlick, and Snuggs were a top tier line and I don't think it would hurt to go back to that. Lastly I think Knies with Huglen and Lamb could generate some scoring and also would give us a better idea of how good Lamb can be. I know this is easier said than done but I feel like this novel I just typed could seriously solve our depth problems.

It's valid and that sounds good to try especially if game 1 goes poorly.
81-92-77
17-7-89
18-24-22
19/27-13-10

Also, there are rumors of sick players on the team so that could be a huge blow for this weekend knowing the Gophers need to be full strength for this one.

Sounds like both teams will not be at full strength/health for this series, which is a shame because it's fun to watch both of these teams battle it out when healthy.

You been in contact with the team doctor?

As mentioned gophers will be short handed due to illness. If it’s not the world juniors it’s illness messing up this great series.
Definitely not ideal however I don't hate seeing how the Gophers handle adversity and also seeing if Barto can step up in a huge series. Close did it last year and now it's time we return him the favor. RTB!!!!!

Michigan missing lots of players too. Seems like a postponement would be warranted, but not sure Michigan has any goodwill to pull that off after the Michigan tech debacle in the GLI.

Keep you RTB to the football board. Hockey ain’t got no boat rowers.

I wanna see the best players play against each other and bases on the two lineups that is not gonna happen this weekend.

Michigan is missing the nation's leading scorer, their 3rd leading scorer (and key on their PP), and three other regulars.

The Gophers should win this game even without Close and Huglen.

Just saw they have a third string goalie playing left wing. You have to win this game. Period.

Disappointing to not be able to see two of the best teams in the country go toe to toe but oh well.

Michigan is playing like it's a pond hockey game. Like half focused.

Refs gift UM a PP to keep it interesting and they score.

Who is this ref? UM gets a penalty and they blow the whistle before they touch it with the Gophers on a rush. Absolutely pathetic.

Reminder: The refs ruined the Big Ten championship in Michigan's favor, as well. They didn't lose the Gophers that game but they made a mark on it with pathetic reffing.

Hoping I can catch a hockey game mixed in with this ref/replay show.

have no idea what Cooley is thinking what that hit on the breakaway. Lucky to be still in the game.
