Blast From The Past: QB Hank Bachmeier

I really wanted Hank at the U when he came out of high school, but now “we good.”
Things work themselves out - Hank Bachmeier, Grant Mertz, Brennan Armstrong, Max Duggan. We've got Tanner Morgan and AK the Greek Cannon after TM leaves.

It will blow some minds on GopherHole if Fleck starts Cole Kramer next season.
I am confident Athan will be the starter. Yes, Cole is the 1st QB to enter in blowout games right now, so it seems like he's ahead of Athan. This is true for this year because they use Cole to run wildcat and such, but they know Cole is a "career" backup.

Gopherholers, listen to RememberMurray. Kramer is a game manager with an adequate arm. Not the Greek Canon/Greek Rifleman, nor the QB from South Dakota. He's a winner. If PJ goes for balance in the run /pass game or is slightly run-oriented it's Kramer. If he decides to tilt towards passing vs run the Canon/Rifleman is the QB because of his arm.

The QB competition next year should be good with both of those.

That was a guy that a lot of people wanted to come here but I am glad he went somewhere else. I hope he does not want to try to come here next year. I do not want a guy who quits on his team 4 games into the season regardless of the talent. I am not sure of the entire circumstances surrounding it, but it does not look good.

I highly doubt PJ would go that route anyway. Unless Hank just wants to sit on the bench, which is doubtful.

Athan came in first for Western Illinois or Colorado I think? I always thought he was just swapping which went in first/deciding who he wanted to practice.

I'm just not convinced Kramer has enough throwing ability to run the balanced offense we see Tanner running this year, but it could just be we haven't seen him play enough.

I just go back to the scoring drive Athan ran against Western Illinois. He seemed to command the offense and got a TD on a QB sneak. After that game Coney durr commented on Twitter about how he thought Athan was the future of the program and how he carved up the 1st string defense while on the scout team. When a former 1 string defensive player gives those accolades, it's hard for me to think it won't eventually be him as 1st string QB.
