SI: Is It Time For Buccaneers to Move On From WR Tyler Johnson?

Hopefully a wake up call that pays dividends on another team once he’s cut.

Baltimore, with Bateman and Big Dan?
Because if speed issues (at NFL standards), Tyler seems more of a possession receiver—if he cures the easy drops. There has got to be a need for that on several NFL teams. He might be mismatched in Tampa.

Hate to say it but for the last couple of years, none of the moves Tampa has made in regards to their WR room screams that they have a lot of faith in TJ6. Signing Julio to be what could essentially be their 4th WR doesn't bode well for Johnson doing much with the Bucs. My memory is fuzzy but I recall they made a move last year (or the year before) that seemed to bump TJ further down the depth chart as well.

Maybe it's not a good fit there, maybe he doesn't have NFL chops, maybe he just drops the ball too many times, who knows. Hopefully he can get a chance somewhere else before the window closes entirely. It would be awesome to see him have some consistent success somewhere, if not in Tampa

He's not in the dog house for drops. It's missed and half-hearted blocks that Brady can't abide.
