It will be nice to watch them with attendance at full capacity. (It may also be an indication as to which way their season is headed.) How about if the U of M Athletic Department gives away all those empty seats to youth hockey teams????? If for some reason ALL of the season ticket holders show up and if for some reason the rest of the seats are ALL filled up (which is highly unlikely) the youth hockey players can stand up at the top of the seating sections.

The first four words I wrote are "Gophers at North Dakota."

You basically created two threads in one when there is a thread called "Crowd" already for your second point.

I’m heading up to GF for Saturday’s game. I’ve never had a problem with their fans. In fact I’ve made some friends over the years. Oh there are assholes but that’s with any fan base. They have more because obviously they have more fans. The place will have a playoff feel like it always does up there. I will be happy with a split and the win is on Saturday night hopefully

I've always wanted to go back there with an over-sized maroon and gold sweatshirt that says "0.6 seconds" on the front and back. Their fans are great. They know their hockey and their hockey history. I will be happy with a split as well. They are exceptionally well coached.

Perhaps, just perhaps what "ruined" the program is not winning a title in the last 18 seasons and also (more importantly) the uninspired brand of hockey fans are watching the last several seasons. This season to date is a perfect example. Brooks' teams skated harder and faster in warm-ups that some of these prima donnas do during games. Additionally, 8 p.m. game times are ridiculous, the television coverage has been confusing (or lacking like this coming weekend) and the administration has been clueless and inept as to come up with ways to boost attendance and get the student population re-dedicated to the program. There is no "buzz" on campus surrounding this program anymore. The womens volleyball team does a MUCH better job of marketing, promotion and match-day incentives and festivities and FUN!

Despite these 2 teams being in separate conferences, which sucks, I still think it’s the best rivalry in the country. In the west anyways. I know some UND fans think it’s UMD now but a buddy of mine who lives in GF and has been a diehard fan his entire life and season ticket holder still says it’s Minnesota, and I agree

They can say whatever they want but what gets their blood boiling more than anything else on the planet? Losing to the Gophers.

It's the same for a lot of us Gopher fans.

Damn what was that? A Friday night ass kicking to the hated hawks. I’ll be shocked if they sweep so shock me

I picked the wrong game to go to. Should of went to Fridays game. Saturday was all UND except for final 4 minutes when the Gophers damn near tied it up despite getting outplayed for the other 56 minutes. I had a great time. The Ralph is such a sweet barn. The food and booze menus are next to none in college hockey. With that said F the fighting hawks

Rank it against NHL arenas and it's still top half. There is nothing close in college hockey.

Totally agree. They call it the palace on the prairie for good reason

That's a good line. I gotta give you props for it. Sometimes humor is not rewarded in the Hole. People get pretty serious.

I’m assuming the reason the Big Ten made schools create a B1G hockey conference was for TV programming on the BTN. Even If they disbanded and BIG schools went to their old alliances, why couldn’t the BTN broadcast B1G teams whoever they are playing? Am I missing another revenue feature to having all the B1G in one league? Maybe they think that folks are not going to watch B1G hockey unless they are playing each other. Maybe that’s true.

The conference was created because Penn State added a hockey team so they had to create it.

The Big Ten doesn't care about hockey, just like so many of the fans now.
