Adrian Martinez out on Friday

Before the Martinez news I put a little on Nebraska as part of a parlay that would've given Minnesota the division. I just put double that amount on Iowa on the M/L.
Nebby at -1? I hate Iowa, and will be cheering hard for NE, but that line feels wrong. Did you get Even or -105?

-105 so I parlayed It with Coastal Carolina to get better than even money. Like you I'll be cheering hard for Nebraska but I see no way they win this game. I'm baffled by the line.

I'm hearing that the flu is running through the Iowa team and Padilla and Petras haven't practiced all week.

Probably explains why Padilla wasn't available to the media on Tuesday when he was scheduled to be.

can i ask based on what?

Iowa has the better defense (Nebraska is pretty banged up still on D with some of their big guys) and ST (Nebraska kicker is rough). Nebraska better offense when Martinez was playing. New QB is a total wild card so can't really give them the edge plus Iowa feasts on turnovers, which he may be prone to. Ferentz is a better coach than Frost. It just is baffling me a little to see the Nebraska love
Look what Nebraska did against Wisconsin last week. Look what they did against Ohio St. Depends on their back up QB. If he plays decent and doesn’t make the mistakes Martinez has they could win. Martinez wasn’t exactly a very good passer. Iowa’s offense isn’t that great. It’s at Nebraska, and it’s their last game of the year.

Perhaps Vegas thinks Martinez is the reason why Nebraska has underachieved this year.

supposedly this was a rumor and possible ?food poisoning? Padilla and Petras reportedly practiced yesterday

Glad this game is at 12:30 and isn't a night game. Regardless of what happens the players/coaches will have time to process it before heading to the hotel tonight to focus in on the Wisconsin game tomorrow.

Won't have that unknown hanging over things until late tonight wondering if we still have a shot at the West or not.

I'm not sure if it really matters if it's one of these 2 or the 3rd stringer. Padilla offers more mobility and is probably a better thrower but their offense is a complete train wreck.

If they win it will be how they win 95% of their games. D & special teams.

I love that this game got relegated to BTN behind KSU / Texas, Cincinnati / East Carolina, and USF / UCF.

Vegas had Utah over Oregon, I think. That surprised a lot of people, but was a very good call. Vegas may know something Iowa’s current situation?
They're playing with a backup quarterback, have looked awful for the last few weeks, and they're playing a team that's way better than its record.

Vegas doesn't need inside information on that team. They've looked bad while Nebraska has looked pretty good despite their awful record.

Could be wishful thinking too, seeing as I don't know much about their backup QB. Could be the NE players are done with this season and don't really care. Maybe they shot their wad against WI. I could see NE winning and us losing.

I think the Wisconsin game proved that Nebraska's players will keep on fighting. Iowa is a rival and Nebraska is playing at home so can't see Nebraska just laying down today. Now whether or not they can win a close game remains to be seen but I would expect this to be yet another 1 score affair for Nebraska. Hopefully this time they find a way to be on the winning side of that score as opposed to the losing side.

Getting an early start to your black friday trolling I see.
You look kind of pathetic when you call anyone who disagrees with you a "troll". Just because some people aren't Philip jock sniffers doesn't mean they aren't true Gopher fans.

BTW: He ain't wrong.

Besides Martinez, I’ve just seen that Nebraska RB Rahmir Johnson isn’t suited up for today’s game with Iowa. Martinez and Johnson are a big part of Nebraska’s offense.

Jeez, like 90% of their offense. It's starting to look more and more likely to me that Iowa rolls. But boy would I love to be wrong.

Oh brother, Smothers!

The physical abilities of Martinez without the mental errors?

If the gambling bots call 3-8 Nebraska on a backup freshman QB over 9-2 Iowa it will go down as a turning point in the rise of AI

No chance. They were just trying to bait particular groups of bettors.
