Postgame Observations

Bailed out by two turnovers and statistically dominated, people get fired for wins like that.
Seriously? Bailed out? So Iowa's wins don't count either because of all the turnovers they've forced?
They won a game on the road in a monsoon. Not to mention Crab barely played and Wright was out.

Do Fleck and Zimmer have strong religious beliefs about not putting teams away for wins while on O then hoping your D bails you out. How many of these have we seen over the past few years. For once, it would be nice to salt away a game on O.
Like the Outback Bowl?

You have got to be f...in kidding me. Both turnovers were forced by the defense, game was played in terrible conditions and we friggin won on the road in the Big Ten......take a break from the computer if this win bugs you that much. Good lord.

Last Gopher drive ending with the FG (which meant nothing more than
a little field position...)

One more 1st down, or TD you ice the game.

You bring Cole Kramer into the game on 1st and 10 to run the Wildcat, letting a good defensive line know within 95% certainty what the play will be. THREE times in a row!

THAT was lunacy.

Yeah, I know we won, but you are just asking for lightning to strike and end up in OT.

That 3 play set cements my opinion of our OC.

Not the ugliest but one the guttiest W’s. The D hung in there and didn’t breakdown and allow big plays. PU’s QB was in a zone but I told Mrs Bayfield that we will make a big play with weather conditions as they were. Then boom! I liked how the O somehow wore down the clock at the end. Not a fan of wildcat but Kramer did his job well. Kicking game was superb and we took care of the ball under wet conditions. Gutsy.

Year that was hideous. Not gonna try hard to watch the replay. Well maybe the Crawford punts.

I like to b*tch and moan about how terrible the team is any week we don’t completely dominate the game, even then I still don’t get fired up until we are better than Bama.

Stat sheet wasn't beautiful but in a pouring rain:

0 turnovers
0 sacks (I think)
9.4 Passing YPA
2/2 FG
Shutout 2nd half
Immaculate special teams

Gophers won at the margins today, which is a place where they have often struggled under Fleck. Let's be happy for a road Big Ten win.

yep. Offense did enough to hang on for the victory while the defense and special teams carried the team today in tough conditions. Plus we didn't run the ball well but we got some key rushing yards late in the game which played a massive role in helping to kill the clock.

Amazes me how hard some people work not to enjoy things. We won....worry about all the other stuff later and just enjoy a win against a Division opponent on the road in terrible conditions.

Now that was a beautiful Big Ten road win in the rain. A fan of the Gopher Football Team has to absolutely love that win. Congrats to all the players, Coach Fleck and his staff. It was a remarkable week at practice for all involved. This Big Ten win is IN THE BANK!

How many threads are you going to copy/paste this take into? We get it. You wanted a pass out of the wildcat...

Defense is half of football. They didn't allow a point in the 2nd half. That's not Ugly.
I honestly don't know what happened after game 2 but our defense has played amazing for 3 straight games now. Purdue got some yards but the D kept them out of the endzone and held them to 13.

The D-Line has gone from no pressure of any kind in the first 2 games to getting 4 sacks in each of the last 3 and putting all kinds of pressure on the QB. Lots of guys rotating in and out and making an impact. Fun to see and exciting for the future on that side of the ball to see these guys developing into good players.

Ha ha, Im keyed up. Just the 3.... I didn't want a pass, I simply disagree with the Wildcat coming in on 1st and 10 when we had been moving the ball effectively by not being transparent.

They are setting up a big Kramer pass against Iowa.

Rossi has been dialing up a few more well timed blitzes it seems like.
