No read option under Ciarocca if I remember right. Was either straight hand-off, slant, slant & go, bubble screen, (Wildcat?)
Wildcat was more common in 2019 than 2021 but it was just as common in 2020

The one thing I thought we would always have with Fleck is a passing game. Then 2019 happens, we send two guys to the NFL, Morgan has a the great year

So I thought we were off and running on our passing game for good. Then we seem to get these talked about qb's and recovers............I just thought we'd have a passing game every single year.

I'm kind of stunned and bummed about our passing game. It's brutal.

Two guys banged up.
Guys we got are small and inexperienced

Game plan was actually executed pretty well. We didn't want to give too much tape of our dynamic offense to Purdue. We are in good shape as far as that is concerned.
Yeah. Between game plan and that 4th down attempt I kind of blame fleck’s ego for this game

Wright had been banged up all season whether playing or not
Wright was literally benched today for some reason. He came back in the second half, but I don't believe it was an injury.

No idea about today’s reps. But he has been dinged all year

We needed Seth Green to convert 3rd and 4th and short on numerous occasions in 2019. I think that was an underrated factor in keeping drives alive, all year.
We are missing the same caliber of playmaker wide receivers right now
Potts isn’t quite Mo, and particularly playing injured.
Bizarre play calling at times.
Lack of urgency/running out the clock on ourselves in the 4th
Tanner Morgan regressing under Sanfords coaching

This team has been so up and down under PJF genuinely don’t know what to expect each week. We could go on to win the West and it wouldn’t surprise me that much.

Agree with you on everything except Morgan regressing

Morgan isn’t failing to do things he used to do. He’s being asked to do things he has never shown he can do

Any chance Fleck had USC on his mind today? I mean, seriously!

I think he’s still more than capable, given decent protection and WRs completing the catch. Something is not quite right with the offense, overall. Perhaps we need an analyst, say Kirk C., to help Sanford figure it out.

What is he being asked to do?

Happy feet, not having superstars to catch everything, confidence waning.
I think TM is the product of the system that was installed by KC and MS. Now the new regime is throwing out the system. Yet don't have or willing to bring it to someone who can do. It is extremely awful to listen today post game presser from team.

At the end of the day most of the blame falls on Fleck. He's in year 5 and recruited just about the whole team so if the players aren't good enough that's on him. He hired his coaches and coordinators so if they're the problem that's on him. There's been a pattern of playing down to the level of bad opponents which is on him as a leader.

He does get a bit of a one-time pass because they'd covered up their flaws well in the past but now that it's all out there that is gone. If he doesn't make changes with coaches or with OL, QB, or receivers it's 100% on him the next time.

If it’s the QB, you need to bench him.
I don't think any of the QB's on our roster would've done better in the pure passing scenarios, today.

But Kramer, simply for his ability to open things up on the running game, I think has to be on the table to come into the game more, if we can't get the regular running game going.

I just hope that 2023, four star wide receiver that committed to us has been busy lately and not able to watch the games.

I don’t debate this. OL was terrible. But Morgan’s issues aren’t just this game. It goes back to the start of 2020. I was in the camp of let Morgan play and hope he works through his problems. But after this game, I am firmly in the “try somebody else” camp. His throws, even when he had time weren’t good.
