#3 Ohio St. - OSU fans are not happy. They want a new DC and a new QB. Their 5 star guy is not good enough. They lost to #12 Oregon at home.

#9 Iowa St. - They lost in convince fashion at home to #10 Iowa. Their coach has never beaten Iowa despite being a top 10 ranked team and solid these last few years. They lost 27-17 and it wasn't that close.

#14 USC - They lost AT HOME vs Stanford. Stanford lost at home to Kansas St last week where they only accumulated 233 TOTAL yards. At one point Stanford was leading 42-13 over the 14th ranked Trojans.

#15 Texas - They lost at Arkansas. Arkansas is 2-0. (They beat Rice last week). This is Arkansas's...1,2,3,4,.... 5. It's their 5th win over a Power Five opponent since the start of the 2017 season.

#21 Utah - Lost to BYU in the "Holy War". Utah hadn't lost that game since 2009.

Non-impressive wins.
#8 Notre Dame. Coach will want to execute his team again after luckily winning over Toledo, 32-29.
# 22 Miami. They had an inspirational finish to win over Appalachian State. 25-23

It's tough sledding the first few weeks for a lot of teams that end up putting it together.

I do like the annual reminder that, regardless of how hard the voters in the polls try to convince themselves otherwise, neither Texas nor USC is good.

It's a beautiful thing to have that early benefit of the doubt every year.
Nebraska had it too, but even the voters learned about Nebraska by now.

I have to disagree with you about Miami

App state is going to win 8+ games.
Miami would’ve liked to be better but that isn’t a non impressive win.

Outside of Alabama, there is a lot of parity in college football this year.

In other words, the gist of this post is that while we may have been disappointing yesterday, other teams were more disappointing than us because the national rankers don't think much of us anyway.

You didn't mention that #5 Texas A&M at Colorado won by 10-7 while racking up only 288 yards of total offense but that isn't too comforting given that we go to Colorado next weekend and gained only 287 yards against Miami Ohio.

I don't know why OSU fans should be so upset with Stroud. He passed for 484 yards yesterday so he's started his career with two good games. Obviously, OSU's defense is a much bigger problem.

They showed a stat that this was the first time in years - maybe ever, that OSU gave up over 30 points in each of their first two games. (someone can correct me, but it was a really interesting stat.)
