Lots of seats opened up for Thursday

I was in Minneapolis last Thursday. Wish it had been this week. Damn

According to the seat map, significant is a couple of dozen.

Last I knew the visitors get 3,000.

In 2010 we had a significant number of tOSU fans in 212. Not so much in 2014. Might have been the snow...

Half of one section? Is that all visiting teams get, one section?
There is no way visitors get a whole section.
They probably get a few thousand. Some in upper deck and some but fewer in lower deck

Quite a few seats available in 202, 203, 218, and 219.

The standard sections are the upper deck end on the north side. Pretty sure it's at least one section... possibly two.

Yeah but it isn’t the whole section

it’s like the top 30-40% of the section

I'm sure the number is out there somewhere as to how many tickets teams have to hold for the visiting team.

Every team handles where they put those fans differently. Some put them in a big chunk in some undesirable part of the stadium,. Others spread them out into smaller groups

Isn't OSU bringing their band and don't they take up seats? I would presume they pay tickets too (Ohio State, not the band members)

We give the worst seats in the house to the general visiting fan allotment. Upper deck, end zone, can't see the video board, can't see the skyline. I've sat with my back literally against the wall in the very top row at Camp Randall before.

There's also usually a good amount of visiting fans behind the visiting bench, but those I presume are a lot of parents and staff. And people who just went secondary mkt.

Hoping for a sellout but also kinda hoping there are 2 seats left for me with my Gopher pass.

Less than 2,000 left? someone can do the math or run the software

even if not a sellout, this will be the biggest gate in history of Gopher Sports...prices are highest I've ever seen

compared from what I saw a week ago they:

added about 300 in section 202
added about 70 in Section 203
added about 25 in Section 217
added about 220 in Section 218
added about 150 in Section 219
added about 120 in Section 220

so about 885 added?

209 128 to 42
210 55 to 33
211 68 to 12
212 136 to 60
213 57 to 31
214 58 to 36
215 9 to 2
216 2 to 0
217 6 to 31
218 3 to 220
219 10 to 162

I've seen no indication their band is traveling in any of their band's social media.

For some reason I had the same misconception, I don't know why I thought that but when I went googling ... yeah no idea why I thought the band was coming ...

They travel a lot, so I'm not surprised that this misconception started. I'm sure someone somewhere just assumed they'd travel and spoke it as truth and it spread from there.

They didn't come the last time we played OSU at TCF either.

I believe I saw they’re discounted for freshman and maybe sophomores as well? But then the Miami game is free.

So if it’s a sell out. Wonder how many standing room only spectators they can add with Gopher Pass. An extra thousand?

It seems like there is usually, in addition to the State Fair, also home Viking's preseason football, Twins games, Loons, etc. etc. competing with the Gophers on opening Thursday night. At least some of this isn't a factor this year and people are generally more excited about the Gophers this year. It would really be fun to see the stadium filled to capacity on national TV Thursday night. That, and of course a good performance by the home team.

I learned it from the bad influences here at Gopher Hole!

Is it going to actually sell out? We are now only three days from kick off and it looks like a decent number of available seats. Especially after all the OSU seat returns. In fairness, if it weren’t for covid I do think it would be sold out by now. There is a lot of interest locally in this game.

Was just able to get seats for the Gopher Pass. It was in one of the sections that opened up after OSU returned tickets.
No idea how many SRO they are willing to go. I bet it's more than a 1,000 though.
