PAYNE A GOPHER!!

Love it! Nice addition!

Nice.

@builtbadgers you like this commit?
Yes i do. However i tend to not get overly excited until i see them repeatedly handle elite players. For me it is about recognizing how young he is and how far he has to go. I am ok with that. I love the approach i know the staff will take will enhance the possibilities for this young man. Additionally i am thrilled for Ben as so many fans were freaking out that he would not have success getting a good 2022 class.

I like this from the Strib story. For someone who doesn't follow the in and outs of recruiting, this is the first mention I've seen that Coyle's plan might be happening.

"He played for Minnesota Select coach and former Gophers player Mitch Ohnstad this summer.
'[Ohnstad] guides me in a direction because he played at the U and he's played high major Division I basketball," Payne said. "He guides me to let me know where my game should be and working on the stuff that will get me there.' "

It's all coming together

His video is awesome. I was impressed with his jumper form and handles

The Division II portal stuff and missing out on some really nice transfers had me worried. I know it takes time but man, seemed like we were not getting a lot of W's. These last two signings, hometown kids, talented. If not A-tier guys from Minnesota at least B-Tier

With the way Minnesota basketball talent has blown up, getting a handful of B-Tier in-state recruits can turn your whole program around. This is a great start, if Ben gets another here soon, I will be on the edge of fanboyism.

My prediction for the 2023 Big Ten Big man of the year?

Think what impresses me the most in his videos are on the defensive side. Guy looks like he goes hard every play on both sides of the court.
