Pssst: Parker Fox, the 6-8 high-leaping incoming Gophers basketball transfer from Mahtomedi who is explosive at the rim, has suffered a serious knee injury that makes it unlikely he’ll play this year. Parker, who’ll have two seasons of eligibility with Minnesota, injured anterior and posterior ligaments.

Good lord. But I guess if there is a year to miss it is this one. Assuming this is all true of course.

I think there is enough smoke to believe there is a knee injury that occurred right before he committed to Minnesota. Torn ACL has been the rumor. Whether he is out for the year or until Big Ten season, nobody knows.

Without Parker, we have 7 players right now. I admire Ben’s patience, because it makes me panic a bit!

Besides the anterior and posterior, are there any other ligaments that may have been injured? 🤔

Hahaha. It’s ok guys Joan is going to suit up. I hear she’s a mixture of magic Johnson and Larry bird.

If he tore his ACL and PCL in April or May, it would seem very unlikely he plays basketball this coming season at any point.
I was anxious to see if he could make the transition to playing against better athletes and still be effective. He seemed like a good guy to lead the defensive intensity for Ben’s gritty defense.

Could this be kept quiet for that long if it happened before he signed??? Why wouldn't they be upfront with that.

Someone needs to start the "Official 2021 MN Basketball campus try-outs" thread because that seems like about the only way we will be filling out the roster. It is a sure bet we will fill the team with Minnesota talent.

It worked for us in 1902 so why not?

If I remember correctly Dave Winfield, important member of the 72 Gophers Big Ten Champion team was discovered playing intermural basketball at the U...Strange things do happen.....

Sucks to lose him this year (because we’re already super thin in the front court). Let’s hope he’s the same player when he comes back. Explosive leapers and knee injuries don’t go together well.

They may not be allowed to comment on it. Especially before he signed. Cannot publicly comment on specific players before they commit.

Dear lord. Is it April 1st?

LMAO. I'm good. I was not in favor of canning Pitino. Nightmares are easier to endure when they are proceeded by an I told you so. 2-27? If we catch a break or two.

Terrible news for him. Wonder how he hurt it after the season?

Also odd that they not only still signed him, but touted it as a big deal.

My thoughts exactly. I was looking forward to watching some of those explosive plays, it gave me something to look forward to.

Time for Eric Curry to get into basketball shape cause we're going to need him.

What a shame, and what an absolute shit break for Fox first and foremost, and then for the program, the coaches, the team, the fans and etc. To lose by far our best recruit like that before he'd even had a chance to wear the uniform just seems like the epitome of Gopher basketball, like some kind of cruel cosmic joke. Drag, drag, drag...

We'll get through it somehow. I just hope that Parker is doing alright. For any high level athlete, sustaining such a major injury as that is just devastating emotionally, and I really feel for that kid and the many months of struggle, physical therapy and rehab he's got ahead of him. Hang in there, Mr. Parker Fox, and get well soon.

Psst, what a cynical way to share news of a devastating injury.
