Omersa enters transfer portal

Is he just keeping his options open until they make a hire?

So much success from the class of three Minnesotans.

He will contribute something somewhere. His biggest problems here were that he was undersized, in a front court logjam, and didn't contribute much of anything on the offensive end where the team had real deficits. As a defensive specialist, he could be valuable. In his 7 games this season, he averaged (on a 40 minute basis): 5.2 steals, 1.7 blocks, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists against 1.7 turnovers. Put him in a league where the players run smaller and he could be very disruptive on the defensive end.

Oh agreed. Love all three of those kids. Hard workers and seemingly good people.

This post was just for the ‘close the boarder’ crowd.

He'd be a good addition for Richard's NM team.

He should be playing TE or DE for Fleck.

Well, unless his is the second coming of David Winfield, I doubt it. The guy has shown sub par hands in my view, but I'd be curious to know if he ever played any football

My guess is TE might be possible, but you have to have some grit to play defense, and some of that is learned through experience.

The Vikings signed some free agent defensive lineman years ago who might have been a weightlifter or wrestler, and he looked like a complete amateur out there in the pre-season games. The Big Ten would expose most first timers pretty quick.

Again, the St. Thomas route for our lost forward, Omersa.

Omerssa was a wide receiver in high school

Go for it. Why give up? He certainly has the natural gifts.
Will be interesting to see if he can make the transition. Has decent size so wouldn't have to pack on a ton of weight.
