In his mailbag in today's "The Athletic", Andy Staples was asked to start a roster for 2020 with any QB not named Lawrence or Fields. His response?

Minnesota's own Tanner Morgan.

That's heady stuff for this program. And it feels good.

Can hardly wait to see if/how Morgan improves. He was a young QB playing very well with great receivers. Now that he is a junior, he might be able to step out of the "system" shadow to use the confidence gained to catapult himself to new heights. His improvement might be enough to more than offset losses in defensive personnel, Johnson, etc.

Feldman and Mandel also listed their Top 25 coaches in college football today.

Fleck was No. 12 (Mandel) and No. 15 (Feldman).

Will be interesting to see how much freedom Sanford/Simon give Morgan to make his own decisions. I got the feeling that KC was very controlling over that aspect of things but that was just my feeling based on the way Morgan answered some questions about making reads. Going into his 4th year with the program and having a full year and a half worth of games under his belt, Morgan is at that point where players tend to really hit their stride in college football.

Could be a lot of fun to watch if he takes another step in his development.

How many years have we waited to have a QB other teams actually would want? Its crazy what is happening. I love it. I'm so damn excited.

Trying to convince wife to get season tickets...
Let us know if you need some sort of intervention. I can start with a powerpoint if need be.

She LOVES Gopher football but we're having a kid in May and that can be challenging for games cause baby. We'll see. I like my odds, especially if we scale back on our basketball tickets.

Just put it in a playpen for few hours at home and turn tv on, baby will never know you're missing

Drop off in basket in front of unsuspecting relatives house with a note prior to the game. Pick up cargo afterwards.

Get the tickets. There is a wide range of prices. It's going to be an exciting year! Oops - sorry, just saw the baby factor. Congrats!

And just attach a photo of your face to a large stuffed bear and play recordings of yourself talking to the baby. It's like you're right there with them!

Early congrats. Your life will never be the same (in a good way).

Put the kiddo in the tight end room during the games. Plenty of room in there...…..

Congrats on the new addition!

It's simple. Instead of getting her a chain saw for Mother's Day this year, get her season tickets to Gopher Football! ;)

High expectations. Not sure what to do with these. Have never had them as a Minnesota sports fan and not ended up highly disappointed. This all feels very different though. Feels like even our bottom is still a very good football team in contention.
