Where do you think they gonna set up in Dinktown. Maybe by 3M Arena at Mariucci. other locations you see them setting up.

Probably not enough room in either of those places. Outside Northrop or East River Flats are by best guesses. Maybe Oak Street but then they'd need to find somewhere to move everything that is normally there and I'm not sure if they have contracts in place preventing that.

The mall would be the best but not sure where they are going to set up. All I know is that this is going to be a rough week for me. I can't take this. I am still trying to wrap my head around 10-1. I went to Evanston and that was the most Gopher fans I have ever seen at an away game. This is just nuts. Long suffering fans like myself rejoice. I have every way to lose a game and been to half empty stadiums. We deserve this.
Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in Evanston also, guessing about 5k fans there in Maroon & Gold, I’d guess 20-25% of the total attendance. Gotta do the Mall, perfect spot just in front of Northrop.

I mean....just makes sense to close down some streets near the TCF Bank stadium right...atmosphere ain't the same if they're at the Northrup or Dinkytown? Lets shut down some side street like a festival and make it happen where they should be, right next to the stadium!

If it snows watch them wuss out and do it inside the Pavilion.

What would be worse optics for the "MN is Cold" narrative? Having it outside in the snow, or having it inside to hide from the snow and cold?

Please yes! I was late buying tickets and can’t afford the secondary market prices, but I would absolutely come down for a party on oak street and watch at a campus bar.

Will be at the mall. They do not care about the weather, they have an enclsed set. There will be no streets closed off. Could be in front of williams too.

I'm sure you're right, but it would be pretty cool if they just shutdown University by McNamara and let the students setup in the street.
Realistically can't do that though because the set is up for like 2/3 days.

I mean they shut down streets after the game anyways for traffic what difference would it make before the game people gotta learn to come earlier

Well, there are a few reasons...

- They broadcast from the set on Friday+Saturday and it probably takes them a day to setup and tear down

- There's a fire department right next to where they would shut down these streets which would make it a nightmare for them to respond to emergencies

- I'm pretty sure there's a trauma center (emergency department) on the East Bank so shutting down major thoroughfares unnecessarily could literally kill a person

If it was just that morning then they would probably setup right in the street w/o thinking about it, but I think it's a 2-day event

Hey, Governor if Minnesota is all about the Gophers right now...I don’t think the City of Minneapolis would mind the traffic and street at the U is shut down for a week for ONCE IN THE LIFETIME Game Day coming into to town.

It’s not like the U is asking City of Minneapolis to shut down the Hennepin Bridge?

Hopefully the U and City of Minneapolis won’t F this up. Please don’t F this up! The Game Day set up HAS to be next to the Stadium to have the best atmosphere.

Put them where the Goldy family zone normally is, in street in front of Williams arena.

What about the green space in the middle of Frontier, Territorial and the other dorms I can't think of right now? It's close to the stadium, big and would be easy to get a lot of student activity around the set!

From someone in the know the Mall is one spot being proposed...the other is at the NW corner of Oak/University AV Se in the grassy area just south of the Alumni Center

The superblock? That could work

I saw an article that said they had sources indicating the Northrup Mall was the leading location choice.

I think it's a good choice. Right in the heart of campus, plenty of space for students to cram in and hold signs, good backdrop of either Coffman Union or Northrup hall.

WHEN should this be known by? I know WHERE is the big question but I am also curious when this will be known.

im in florida right now and there wearing snowmobile suites and probably shutting down schools... its cold all over... bring in a ARMY of heaters spend extra money and make it flipping hot around where they set up..

Nothing announce yet. Should be announce tomorrow.

KSTP tweeted about it earlier today around 2:30 PM stated that ESPN is on campus scouting out locations and said we should know by today? LIES

It’s got to be at the Mall. There is no other place on campus with that type of backdrop and open space.

What time do the trucks start arriving? Wednesday?

Between Williams Arena and the open end of the Stadium. Allows the busses to run from the fair, and the back to the fair for a brat and a Pepsi. Closer to the lots to encourage the throng to arrive early.

That is what I would prefer. That way we can easily go back and forth from Gameday and our tailgate.

That mall is a great open space but too far from the stadium and tailgate lots.

Northrop Mall with Coffman Union in the background should be the choice IMO. Doesn’t disrupt traffic/flow or tailgating by the stadium while providing a natural space for a big group to crowd into.

What a Minnesota answer. How about, RIGHT WHERE THE GAME IS. And RIGHT WHERE THE FANS ARE. Sorry for shouting, I've been drinking trying to get through these last few nights before our game.
