No doubt. I’ve wondered what it would take for one of the new crop to really get people rallied behind them. There are a lot of players I like; Fowler, D. Johnson, Spieth, et al but none of them are really “must see”.
Brooks Koepka is a guy who could garner some attention perhaps if he was a little more outspoken. He clearly has some baggage in his past, makes me want to cheer for him, but he’s not much of a character.
Ironically, I was a “Phil guy”; cheered against Tiger more often than not. I don’t know if the lack of a good rivalry is what’s missing but there’s something missing. I find myself cheering more for Tiger than ever before. Odd.
Almost like men’s tennis being less interesting when McEnroe and even Agassi were done; Very few of the new wave of men’s tennis players interest me enough to watch tennis anymore.
