2nd year in a row they've worn alternates vs their biggest rival. They also wore alternates vs Penn St. earlier this year. But helmet schools never change uniforms right?

I think they are talking about the MMM color combo. We used it 4 times between 1986-1991, once in 2007, 7 times between 2008 and 2010, and then once earlier this year. So we have worn this color combo before, is it "traditional" not quite, but no where near the "Never worn it before" you claimed.
We have never once had Goldy on the side of a maroon helmet.
