Similarities
1. Both teams coming off 8-4 regular seasons in 2016.
2. Both teams have relatively relatively easy non-conference schedules, with the toughest game being a bottom-feeding P5 team (Iowa St. and Oregon St.).
3. Both teams are replacing a multi-year starter at QB.
4. Both teams will have a new starting QB who has limited playing experience.
5. Both teams have stud running backs.
6. Both teams have wide receiver as the biggest offensive weakness.
7. Both teams are replacing defensive backs who are now playing in the NFL.
8. Both teams have linebackers as the strength of the defense.

Differences
1. Kirk Ferentz chews gum with piston-like vigor and efficiency. I don't know if Fleck chews anything.
2. Brian Ferentz lived briefly in state-subsidized housing for poor students while his dad was making $4 million per year as head coach. Fleck's kids live at home.

I know most on this board hate Wisconsin with a passion. I suppose I do too, but I save most of my contempt and disdain for Iowa.

Other than difficult conversations?

Fleck does chew bubblegum and also kicks a$$ but he happens to be all out of bubblegum right now.

Chuck Norris and PJ Fleck stared at each other. Chuck Looked away!
