Kansas sophomore basketball player Carlton Bragg Jr. was charged with misdemeanor battery Friday after he was alleged to have struck his girlfriend and pushed her down stairs during an argument, according to the Douglas County District Attorney’s office.
Bragg, 20, was held without bond until his first court appearance Friday afternoon in Douglas County District Court. Bond was set at $500, Bragg pleaded not guilty and he was later released from jail. Bragg’s next court date is Dec. 27.
According to Kansas basketball coach Bill Self, Bragg is indefinitely suspended from playing in KU’s games. Kansas’ next game is at home against Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.
