Coaches are optimistic the game plan will work.
They don't spend a week in search of successful plays and not expect to score, and Colorado State coach Mike Bobo is no different.
But he's also a realist, and based on the Minnesota defense he's scouted on tape, points aren't likely to be easy to come by when the Rams play at TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday in their first true road trip (10 a.m.; ESPNU).
"I've told the quarterbacks and I told the offensive staff we're going to probably punt this game," Bobo said. "If we're going to punt, it would be great if Hayden (Hunt) can do what he does, and that's hit 50-, 60-yard bombs with zero return. That would help us out a lot and make the defense defend the whole field, which makes it harder on the offense.
"He's a weapon. We're going to punt. They're pretty good on defense, and when we do punt, it would be great to flip the field."
