Hope For a Game to Match The Weather

No kidding. :)

And hope there are no accidents to tie-up traffic after the game either.

WTF even happened last year.

It was like there was no traffic direction and they put up the signs to direct some of the parking in new directions....

WTF even happened last year.

It was like there was no traffic direction and they put up the signs to direct some of the parking in new directions....

A kid ran across 4th Street in Dinkytown and was hit by a cab. That meant all the traffic that normally heads down to get on 35W or through Nordeast, was stopped at 15th(?), the street by McDonalds) and sent North. Normally a 30-40 minutes trip home for us but that night we got home at 1:45am.

Didn't know what happened until Sunday morning. The kid was still in the hospital under "serious condition" if memory serves.

Found this:

A University of Minnesota student is in the hospital with serious injuries he suffered when a taxi struck him late Thursday night.

22-year-old Teddy O’Reilly was in the Dinkytown area leaving a Gophers football game when he attempted to cross the street and collided with an Airport Taxi, FOX 9 reports.
According to his CaringBridge profile, O’Reilly suffered a fractured skull, an enlarged pulmonary artery, several broken bones, and was being treated for “four brain bleeds.”

According to FOX 9, it’s unclear whether the 22-year-old had used a crosswalk when he was struck; however, KARE 11 reported earlier that he had “darted” into the street.
However, O’Reilly told BringMeTheNews that this was not the case. He says two lanes of traffic waved him across the street, and when he attempted to cross, a speeding taxi in the third lane hit him.

The unidentified cabdriver pulled over after hitting O’Reilly and was “cooperating” with investigators, according to the Pioneer Press.

While the accident is being investigated, the student is making small steps towards recovery.

An update on CaringBridge Friday afternoon indicates O’Reilly’s breathing tube had been removed and that the 22-year-old was sitting up in bed and responding to questions “every now and then.”

It was the first time he’d spoken since the accident, the update added.

That explains a lot.

When I left my lot was just directed the wrong way by connes.... nobody was actually directing.

The Twins and Vikings games ending around the same time and the State Fair should make for some interesting roadways tomorrow night. And light rail trains, for that matter.

And the saints game... Easily 100,000+ attendance between all four events. Light rail is going to be a disaster.

In fact I would avoid light rail at all costs tomorrow. Every train coming from Downtown headed East after the game will be filled to the brim with Twins and Vikings fans, leaving no room and massive wait times for Gophers fans.

Maybe not. The Gopher game should end about 11:15-11:30. That should be at least an hour plus after the other games. Wouldn't advice anybody to leave TCF early though. :D

Heading west should be easy pickins.
