#21 is a one man wrecking crew in the CFL league opener.

1st half: 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 hurries, 1 blocked pass, 1 fumble recovery.

2nd half: tackle on first play, 36 yard pick 6 on second.

He has been signed a few times in the NFL, but at the same time guys who bounce back in and out do tend to get additional shots. Maybe mid season or if there are some pre season injuries or something.
 

They showed highlights of him on sportscenter this morning.
 



The pick 6 is the second highest post on r/cfl right now. Someone even asked where he could buy a jersey of his.
 

Lawrence was runner up for D player of the year in the CFL last year. He has become a dominant defensive player. I think he is making around $300 000 and would take guaranteed money to go try the NFL again. If you can make it, the CFL is a pretty good option for some players. He is also perfectly suited for the CFL. He is too small to be an NFL linebacker and not fast enough to be an NFL safety but perfectly sized to be a CFL LB.

$300k is sure nice but depending on your career length your savings may be limited getting started a bit late in a life / lifestyle that probably won't be $300k, but will be most of your earning years... kinda a risky ish thing too.

Huh? Are you suggesting he not play and take a job making $50k? He is likely saving a ton more for retirement right now than anyone on here at that age. He will be ahead of the game when he gets a normal job!

I hope so. Seems many of the folks on here have had to settle for retirement homes in areas less appealing than the cellar in Silence of the Lambs.

That's always been my impression as well. Of course, with all the hybrid defenses being implemented to counter the increasingly pass-happy NFL, there might be a spot for him in the right system.

Plus he has access to the Canadian health system.

Yeah, nothing like waiting for an average of 18 weeks to see a doctor when you need to. Super jealous of that.

Not totally true. Like here you can get supplemental insurance. You can go to various clinics.

I found out about this when I went up to British Columbia with my wife. She was just exploring options because she loves the pacific northwest as well.

Interesting. Something I'll have to explore more. Most of the people I associated with were either in their 20s to 30s, or lower to mid 50's. I was only up there for about three weeks, but the people I talked to seemed to be happy with their care. Two clinics we visited were private as well, so that may have skewed things. That and Victoria Island/ Northern Vancouver seemed to be more affluent, so that may have been why. Most people said they would have taken Obama as well, so who knows.

Kind of odd to think our President would be more popular outside of his country than in it.
