Tightest opening line in the series since 2009 when the Gophers were favored by 2.

ESPN's power index page gives us about a 35% chance of winning the game. That's about 8% or 9% higher than it was last week.

Anyone heard if Stave will play? Looked like a possible shoulder injury and concussion late in the game.

After the Vikings humiliating loss to a worse Packer team, I truly hope this Gopher
coaching staff is prepared to beat a sconnie team. They better rock them Saturday.

Surprised, thought it would be closer to 6 or 7.

A little surprised. Anyone know how many times we have been favored during this losing streak? Pretty sure we were in 2008 and 2009.

Gophers were favored by 5 in the 2005 game. Ridiculous line considering Cupito got banged up the week before and the Gophers had to go with Mortensen who had seen the field about as much as Perra has this year.

The Gophers were forced to run a very Bronco Tebow-esque type offense and still almost won amazingly. Gophers ran the ball 63 times for 411 yards and lost. That's tough to do

I hate to say it, but I think wisc is the bet at that number

If Stave is out, this could be a really low-scoring game. And I mean a really low-scoring game. 10-6 or something like that. Even if Stave is healthy, I don't think it will be a high-scoring affair.

I don't think there is much difference between Stave and Houston. I agree though, it will probably be a low scoring game.

Gophers will get the axe Saturday. Book it.

And somewhat surprisingly, they'll win because they have the better offense. Badgers not dynamic enough to exploit Gophers' fading defense. Gophers win a game in the 20s.

I would agree with this, the momentum right now is with Minnesota. I would have probably said that more hesitantly last year as well though.

If I were a gopher fan I think I would be rooting for Stave to play.

Seemed to have a problem gripping the ball from the shoulder problem. Houston is a capable backup.
On the last play he really threw a good ball with no warmups.

Agreed. Don't think there is much of a drop off at all from Stave to Houston. The problem for the Badgers is that this is the worst offensive line they've had since Alvarez took over.

Probably the least confident I've felt about the Badgers going into a gopher game since the 2005 game.

I know it's a rivalry game, but I have to think (hope) the Gophers will be far more motivated. Wisconsin's bowl slot is probably locked in, win or lose, behind MSU, Iowa, OSU, Michigan and NW and they're beat up and frustrated after last week. Probably wishful thinking though.

Maybe it's just me, but I'll be rooting for the back-up QB to play.

I don't have specific info but it seems that even when we lose, we always beat the spread in most of the past games.
This could very well be the case Saturday.

I want to face Stave, he looks completely broken. Plus there's plenty of tape on him and we know what we're getting facing him. I don't want to go against the backup with limited film and some uncertainty of what to expect.

If we lose this one the streak might hit 20 games. They are ripe.

General....do you ever post anything positive?

Gophers have more to play for and win in a close game. Jerry will be there, senior day and locking in a bowl game makes for added incentive. Our younger players need the extra bowl prep practice time. Goldy gets the axe!
