As for now, I'm going to project Rutgers into a bowl. Yes, the Scarlet Knights have been pretty brutal the past two games, but they finish with scuffling Nebraska, Army and Maryland. They should be favored in all three, for whatever that's worth. Indiana has to get its fifth win before I can believe in the Hoosiers.

(Note: We're putting Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl mostly to fulfill the conference's desire for "freshness" in location and matchups. The Badgers have played in the Outback and Capital One bowls for the past two seasons).

College Football Playoff: Ohio State

Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual: Michigan State

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Iowa

Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl: Michigan

Outback Bowl: Penn State

National University Holiday Bowl: Wisconsin

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl: Northwestern

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Rutgers

Foster Farms Bowl: Not filled

Quick Lane Bowl: Not filled

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl: Not filled

Go Gophers!!

Foster Farms Bowl would be okay with me.

Sad thing is, 5-7 might earn a bowl bid this year. How are Gophers, Illinois, Indiana, and Rutgers APR numbers?

There is a possibility that [as discussed on BTN Live] that as many as 10 5-7 teams could get asked to bowls in order to fulfill commitments.

Stewart Mandel projected the Gophers to the Music City Bowl vs. Tennessee.

Any bowl means more practice and more exposure for the program. Can't think of a downside from a team standpoint.

Sure, the fans might not like the date/location/lack of prestige.

But for team development, it's crucial.

Took the words right off of my keyboard.

10-11 bowl games for a single conference is insane. Anything lower than Outback Bowl isn't enough to get fans excited.

I've been to the Music City bowl twice. It isn't a bowl that will galvanize a fan base and encourage the casual fan.

No kidding. I don't think the Notre Dame/LSU programs will ever return to national prominence after last year's game.

Good comparison, two helmet schools with great winning traditions with large and loyal fan bases compared to a middling team with a small and fickle fan base.

13-14 was the most recent I could find on the NCAA website:

Rutgers: 980
Indiana: 977
Minnesota: 975
Illinois: 973
