per Marcus:

The Gophers offensive line was supposed to be a strength entering the season with a handful of players returning that helped David Cobb break the school single-season rushing record last year.

Even after injuries sidelined starters Ben Lauer and Jon Christenson during the first two games, Minnesota coach Jerry Kill didn't expect to be embarrassed by the play up front in Saturday's 10-7 win against Kent State at TCF Bank Stadium.

"We're not running the ball very well. That's where it all starts," Kill said. "We can't make excuses about 'we've got these guys hurt and that guy hurt.' Heck, that's part of this deal. You've got to play. Physically, I thought we got it handed to us, the way I look at it. That hasn't been our nature."

Go Gophers!!

The tackle play in particular has been subpar. Getting beat around the edge and holding penalties can't happen against a very bad Kent St team.

Maybe this is where the switch to a freshman needs to happen. All OT options look physically sloppy, slow and lacking any sort of aggression. Let Oseland get some reps, he's more athletic and has some of that nasty disposition that we're desperately missing with this group.

I watched a part of the game on the streaming video. Campion has played great for us for 3+ years, but he struggled today. He looked terrible on a play where he gave up a sack (OK, that obviously the case). First of all he was aligned in the backfield and could have been called for that. Then he dove weakly at the guys feet who easily avoided him and got the sack. He also got beat and was called for a blatant hold a little later. Is he not playing at 100%? Let's hope that he plays better next week. Go Gophers!

The line play, the play calling, the coordination of the offense, player development and evaluation is all on Coach Limegrover. At this point we should be a plug and play offense. There are no excuses.

The film study, today should be entertaining.

Two extremely physical and emotionally draining games in a row. They'll be ready for Northwestern.

This illustrates our predicament. It's not always that easy. Kill stated last week, on the Thursday radio show, I think, that offensive line is the least likely place to see a freshman, because, I think, they're just not physically ready.

Well then who do we believe? Both Kill and Limegrover said.freshmen Moore and Ostland were physically ready.

Cobb made the OL look a hell of a lot better then they are. In my opinion, physically they look fat and sloppy compared to other OL's.
