BUMMER! I've posted this story here before, but he's my favorite new-era Gopher.
After the Michigan game last year I was DYING to go to Bierman to meet the team to celebrate. Unfortunately, I had to work overnight at the U that evening... So after my shift - 8 AM - I figured I'd drive down to the athletic complex and try to catch a glimpse of the jug. So I'm driving up and down the street and I see someone I think I recognize. I pull over, roll down my window and shout, "Hey, are you Cameron?!" Nice guy he is, he comes over and starts chatting with me. I tell him what a great game he played and how excited everyone is and how important the win is - the guy is all smiles. Then I ask "Is the jug in there?" And he goes, "Yeah man, you wanna see it?" He jumps in my car and shows me where to park. We walk into Bierman and he is introducing me to people as we pass. Then we get into the training room and he introduces me to the trainer: "This is my new friend." They got the jug out and handed it to me! He pointed out the 2011 game - his redshirt year. 58 - zip, and said what a tough pill to swallow that was. Anyway, I gush and tell him how monumental the win is - "It's only the second time in my memory (and third in my life) that we've beaten MI." And I'm just in awe. We're taking pictures and I'm posing with Cameron and the jug and then my phone died. No problem. He took down my number and took a handful of pictures said he'd text em to me after the morning meetings. Awesome! Go in for a high five, thanking him profusely, and he pulls me in for a bro hug - wasn't expecting it, almost knocked the wind outta me.
I was super psyched driving home. Went to sleep and when I woke up later that day, sure enough, he'd sent me the pictures he'd taken.
Super class act. Nicest guy you'd wanna meet. I wish him only the best. Be it football or whatever, I have no doubt he'll be successful.
