Tim Brewster is still coaching MN. Just said Michigan's only tough road game is Penn St. Not kidding. Jason Sehorn is so clueless. I hope Kill opens up a can of whoopass this year. Then I hope they let ESPN know how clueless they were. Stick it right in their faces. In the opening, talking about the west, they mention wisconsin and nebraska. Unreal. Man do I hate ESPN. Why the hell is Nebraska getting so much love???What the hell did they gain in the offseason??? I see them being worse!! Wait til they break ground on the Athletic Village!!! Kill is going to kick Nebraska's ass!

Because Delaney let them in the Big Ten?

They're paid professionals who know more about CFB than anyone here. They don't, however know more about individual teams than the fans that obsess over their squads. Nor do they hold opinions about each team that areas high as those fans so everyone who's not an OSU fan will hate them

ESPNU is playing the 2014 MN vs Nebraska game in about 10 minutes though. Oh that was a good one.

I wouldn't say that they know more about college football, even though most of them played it. They basically say whatever ESPN says, along with the rankings around the country. It's fine if they don't talk about us, we will go out there and earn there respect this year. I know the Gophers will beat TCU, we're coming in focused and we know what there tempo is like they won't catch us off guard. If the offense takes care of business with long sustained drives we will win.

I'll say it did serve one purpose, it got me fired up! I'm ready to go! Ready for the season! Bring it on!!! Ski U Mah bitches! (Bitches at ESPN)

They give Michigan and Penn State better odds of winning the B1G title than Minnesota. Now that's just ignorance.

I was listening to a local sports show down here in 'bama, and they had some guest on who was breaking down Michigan's schedule. Not only was he pretty confident that we would beat Michigan, he also warned TCU not to sleepwalk through their first game. It was refreshing to hear someone who apparently has actually been paying attention the last 24 months.

Will you be eligible for parole any time soon?

Untrue. Being a paid talking head does not mean you know more about college football than does the average Joe diehard. There are exceptions, sure. But the vast majority of ESPN's guys are blowhards who only know a decent amount about the blue blood programs.

Disagree. The average Joe Diehard doesn't know the difference between an over and an under front or a cloud vs robber coverage. The average Joe on here can't tell me squat about the ACC Coastal division or about Utah's outlook for the year. People think that because these guys have different opinions or because you are more locked in to a few specific teams that you actually know more about football than guys that have played and analyzed it at a high level for 10-20 years. I'm not riding for ESPN but to say the average guy on here knows more about CFB than those guys is just pretty stupid.

No, no they don't. Jason Sehorn doesn't know sh^} about college football.

lol ok. Why don't you educate us on Okie States outlook on the year. How does Clemson's OL look? Who's your first team Pac 12? Show us your CFB knowledge without the use of a search engine

Do you really expect SEcSPN to know about any schools outside of the anointed 14 in the old south?

If you want good B1G coverage, go to BTN.

"Average joe" was a dumb term for me a use. I never said anything about the average Gopherhole poster knowing more than an ESPN analyst. But the CFB diehard? The guy who watched 8-10 hours every Saturday, listens to numerous podcasts, follows recruiting sites, etc? Absolutely.

Could any of the ESPN talking heads actually do this themselves? We have people who work for our own conference who can't get names right.

So you believe that watching a lot of football and listening to people talk about it means you know more than the people who's job it is to actually analyze those same games and inform us on those podcasts? I personally don't think most fans appreciate how much knowledge those guys have. The other day I listened/watched a video of a non description HS coach break down different variations of Cover 4 for an hour and that only scratched the surface. I don't think most fans care to have that level of knowledge but every analyst out there has to know that sort of stuff

How the heck do you think they get their information??? Through osmosis??? Are they just born with it??? Or do they research it???? It's called preparation, yes, they prepare for their shows and they interpret their research, and I think their interpretation sucks, especially Jason Sehorn. Heaven forbid someone would use a "search engine" these days? Can't find anything on that damn Internet. Look, they're just opinions, and when it comes to MN, they're about 3 years behind.

How many 'games' of Minnesota do you think Jason Sehorn has watched? I agree that coaches who have actually watched a team play are more knowledgeable when it comes to opinions and I would hold their opinions in higher regard, but guys like Sehorn etc., no. What do you think the 14 head coaches in the Big Ten would say if we asked them if Minnesota would be a tough road game for Michigan? 14 of them would say yes, tough game, very tough for them to win. If we asked the 14 coaches of the Big Ten who they think has a better chance at winning the Big Ten West, Nebraska or Minnesota? How many do you think would say Minnesota??? Jason Sehorn played corner, he had to know how to play man to man and zone. ESPN was using their "Power Predictor" or something like that, probably got it from a "search engine". Then, the guys on the show, just throw out opinions to align with he "Power Predictor". It's not analysis, it's fluff. Guys like Lou Holtz, they know football, most of those other guys on ESPN, their just giving their opinions. Kind of like Kirk Herbstreit and his love affair with the SEC and Jameis Winston. How'd that turn out last year?

Skip Bayless works for ESPN so i'm going to post this:

The point, which you clearly missed, was to ask you what knowledge you have right now, without spending an hour researching the question.

The fact that you tried to knock a guy like Sehorn by reducing CB play to 'man to man and zone' , and then knocked someone else for hyping FSU and the SEC, both of whom played in the national semis tells me not to waste my time arguing with you about this.

If Jason Sehorn had said Michigan's only tough road game was at Minnesota would he then be considered knowledgable about college football?

If Jason Sehorn said a tree fell in the forest, would someone who didn't watch the preview show hear it?
