It was an opportunity Josh Parks couldn’t pass up.
After spending last season redshirting as a preferred walk-on at the University of Minnesota, the former Chisago Lakes running back was ready for a change.
And that’s led him to Collegeville, where he will be on the field when St. John’s University begins practice for the 2015 season at 3 p.m. Sunday at Clemens Stadium.
“At the end of the year, (Gophers) Coach (Jerry) Kill and I had a conversation about what the best decision was for me,” said Parks, who set a school record with 2,809 yards rushing during his prep career.
“And we both decided that if I could find a different path I wanted to take, that might be the best choice for all of us.”
