per the STrib:

Two complaints accusing former University of Minnesota athletic director Norwood Teague of gender discrimination against co-workers resulted in $300,000 in settlements dating back to 2012, records obtained by the Star Tribune show.

The complaints were filed by employees at the University of Minnesota and at Virginia Commonwealth University, where Teague worked before being recruited by the U.

In March 2013, Regina Sullivan, a senior associate athletic director for the University of Minnesota, filed a federal complaint against the U after she was fired from the school in October 2012. Teague, she said, “expected a woman in my position to take a passive role and defer to men’s opinions” on issues pertaining to Title IX, the law that bans sex discrimination in any federally funded school.

In her complaint, Sullivan said Teague fired her because she questioned his “commitment to Title IX.” Records show the U settled with Sullivan in April 2014 for $175,000.

Go Gophers!!
Teague is completely in the wrong, but funny thing is i've read many statements on this board wishing our administration would favor mens sports more and there is no way the U is gonna go that way...thats a good thing

I've often said we should favor men's sports (and should) but that means within the confines of the law. If NT is blatantly disregarding title IX as he is accused here, that is not okay. The fact is many schools put the emphasis on men's football and basketball while not ignoring the law and/or being sexist jerks.

Norwood Teague as reported in the Washington Post:

"Stephanie Schleuder, the Gophers’ former women’s volleyball coach, wrote a 2013 letter to university president Eric Kaler demanding that Teague apologize after telling the Star Tribune that the school could not add more sports because of Title IX.

Schleuder said she never received a response from the school.

He is very dismissive of women. He sees them as his plaything as opposed to someone he is supposed to be representing,” Schleuder told the Star Tribune.
"

Two thoughts:
1. Is Kaler in trouble for not following thru?
2. The Title IX lawsuit is on Norwood Teague, and may have a lot more teeth than previously thought.

Can well all agree that Title IX and sexual harassment are not related?
